"Seven-Thirty Nine is your total." The cashier said. I took out a ten dollar bill while he bagged my snacks and gave it to him.

"I told you not to do that shit and what you do? You did that shit." I heard a dude say which made me turn my head.

There were two dudes on the isle going back and forth but they seemed to be friends. I turned my attention back to the front.

"Shut the fuck up and go."

"Here's your change." The cashier said.

"Thank you." I smiled. I turned around to walk out but I bumped into one of the dudes. Specifically the second voice I heard.

"Oh shit my fault."

"Sorry." I said at the same time and he looked me up and down.

"This nigga here." The other one mumbled before I walked out about to go to my car. Hearing other guys trying to get my attention I kept walking to ignore them.

Once I got in my car I watched the two come out the store and join the group of dudes in front of the corner store. My phone rung snapping me out of it.

"Hello?" I answered seeing that it was my boss, Regina.

"I need you to come to my office you've been assigned to different assignment." Was all she said before hanging up.

...

After going home to change into work attire I made my way to the building. I work as an undercover so it's like living a double life. Sometimes I can be on one assignment for more than a year trying to catch someone. It makes me feel like i'm battling my true self at times.

"Ryleigh this is S.A Nick Hernandez and S.A Jordyn Wilson, they'll be assisting you on this assignment." My boss said before we all sat down.

"This is the person we're targeting. Twenty- One year old Jahveir Armani, but he's known as Mahzi in the neighborhood." She showed a picture and I immediately recognized him as the dude I bumped into.

"We've had trouble with him before, he's a drug dealer." Hernandez said.

"True but that's not what we're targeting him for. Four people have come up dead the same way. They have no type of significance with each other, different lifestyles, paths would've never crossed but what we did find out is that all of them came into contact with Mr. Armani." She said.

"Came into contact with him how?" I asked.

"That's what we need for you to find out. They each had a contact in their phone and we traced it back to him." She explained.
