On my way out the company, my phone started buzzing. I quickly fished it out my bag and saw Cameron's name lighting it up.
With a smile I answer it."Hey love, what's up ?" I ask.
"Really? What's up? I haven't heard your lovely voice all day and you ask me what's up? I'm hurt you know." He replies with fake sniffling sounds. "Well, I phoned you because I missed you. Also,I don't know what time I'll be back tonight so don't wait up for me, okay?"
"Sure, I was actually going to send a text later. I'm going out to dinner with a few of my co-workers." I reply.
"Jealous much. I just got more papers to sort and I still need to make a turn at mom's. I swear, that women will be the cause of me getting grey hair." Cameron said with a sigh.
I chuckled with his remark and continued walking to my car.
"Let me guess, she made to much brownies?"
"Yup, and she'll use the guilt trip excuse. Saying we don't visit as much and all that. Anyways I just wanted to check up on you, enjoy your company dinner. "
"Thanks, and goodluck with work" I reply.
"Hey, Ann?"
"Hmm?"
"I love you."
"I love you too." I said and put my phone of.
With a content sigh, I get in my car and place my bag on the passenger seat. I closed my eyes a bit just relaxing back.
I thought about Cameron again with a smile plastered on my face. How was I so lucky to meet an amazing person as him? He works more harder than me yet always make time to check up on me. I was happy, but sometimes he got me a bit worried. A few weeks ago he fainted at work. When I got a call from the his friend, David, saying that Cameron fainted,I rushed out of work. I remember bawling my eyes out when I arrived at the hospital seeing him lay there. I thought something serious had happened, turns out he just overworked himself.
I felt bad for not taking proper note when he arrived home all haggered. I assumed he was just stressed because he was going through some issues of his own. When I asked him why he was working overtime so much, he said he wanted to save up enough money so we could buy a house and go on a little vacation. He's words touched me but also made me fuming. Just how were we supposed to do all that when he would be to exhausted? It made me happy that he thought of things like this but I told him we should take our time. I was happy in our little apartment, it was comfortable. Not only that, both of us works hard and has a good salary, so we should work together to acomplish what we want.
A few minutes after the tension of my muscles has gone off because sitting in a slouched position for hours, I checked my phone and saw that Cindy sent the address. Luckily the restaurant wasn't far from my apartment, it'd take about a 5 minute drive and a 15 minute walk.
Cindy
I forgot to mention, another company's workers will be joining us. Also, turns out the reason why the bossman is holding a celebration, is because they sealed a deal and the contract was signed earlier today:)Anneline
Well that's amazing!! I'll be there in a few, don't drink without me!!I toss my phone back to the passengers seat and drive of to the restaurant.
When I arrived, I saw some of our company's workers heading inside exchanging laughs. I quickly parked my car, grabbed my phone and headed inside.
Walking in, I was immediately greeted by different aromas and the sounds of people laughing and talking with one another. I spotted Cindy and Jerome, her boyfriend, they stood out from the crowd.
