After a few months of trying to forget everything that had happened in the past, I started living a new and different life in a new village with new people. I occasionally assist Miss Eileen with her morning duties, assist with the house, drive Noah to school, and enjoy time with their family. But as you are aware, whenever I attempt to settle somewhere, bad things tend to happen. I was supposed to surprise Noah with something on his birthday today, even though he doesn't like to celebrate it.

He was taken with me to Mendes Peak Mountain. I set up a picnic with a food basket, a purple and hazel cloth, a disco ball with a radio, some sweet aroma flowers, and a wolf picture in the background. It was lovely and sparkly, and I knew he'd adore it.

Astonished, he said, "This is so cool, I like it."

I foresaw you doing it.

"This is the first time I've celebrated my birthday since I knew myself," he says, his eyes welling up with tears.

"Well, baby, there's a first for everything," I say, smiling.

He laughs nervously, "What should I do now?"

Let's get started!

I spread the food and drink out on the soft cloth after opening the basket containing it. We started eating and talking about everything, including school, friends, and partners. It was really lovely. Until we heard a female voice with a hidden fear scream "LET ME GO." I make an effort to ignore it because it appears that I wasn't the only one who heard it. Still trying to ignore it, the same voice yelled, "LEAVE ME ALONE I DON'T WANT YOU, HELPPPPPPPPP!!!"

Please, Noah pleaded, "We need to help her."

"Fine, but I need you to stay here," I said solemnly.

"Bu- "

I interrupted him. "If you want me to help you, you have to stay here."

"All right, I'll do it," he said, rolling his eyes.

I hear growling, mumbling, screaming, and other warning signs of danger as I creep closer to the noise. I feel compelled to turn back, but I continue for Noah's sake. A wolf the same size as the ones in my house was in front of me. He was a creamish-colored werewolf with canines out and ready to kill. He had her pinned down, his palm on her neck choking her, and I could hear her gasping for air as he pressed on her windpipe. As he punched her in the face, blood started to drain from her mouth. She seems so easily broken. I stood there and observed the scene, which reminded me of what happened at my own home. Another scream brings me back to reality, and I realize I must help her.

You can do it, Belle. You were unable to help your parents, but this is your chance to make amends.

I shift into my wolf because the training has been painful. Bone-cracking, fur popping, clothes, and skin ripping out as I wince in pain but never show it. I land on the large wolf. As we rolled down the mountain, I gripped his gut and ripped off his skin with my sharp, poisonous teeth, digging into his neck while he screamed like a girl. He pushed me off of him, and my back landed on the ground.

We rolled until we reached a flat surface, and I began to worry about Noah. Then a hard punch knocked me out of my thoughts. He growls and watches me.

"How dare you interrupt my session with that babe." (Mind link.)

"You're not a real man; you only know how to fight someone when they're weak, but try me and you'll see what I'm capable of." is said vehemently. (mind link)

We stare into each other's eyes, he searching for fear but finding none. Then, all of a sudden, rain began to fall, and the thunder became monstrous.

I couldn't believe my eyes when the wolf jumped off me when he heard thunder, revealing that he is afraid of it, and then he ran as fast as a lightning bolt.

I swerve back into mortal form as the rain pours down on my naked body. When I heard footsteps coming toward me, my gut feeling told me that I was no longer in danger, but my body disagreed. Then Noah and a girl I didn't recognize appeared. Noah ran toward me, and it appeared as if he remembered that I had shifted, implying that I was naked, so he began to cover his eyes.

The girl approached me and handed me a rapper, which I toke and wrapped around my naked body.

"Noah, are you all right?" I asked, scanning his body to see if he was hurt.

"Yes, I am belle," Noah assured.

I turned away from the girl, saying, "Who are you?" as if I didn't trust her.

"I'm Layla, and I'm the one you just saved."
