An odd sensation began to come over me, it was as if someone was popping the balloon of darkness around me and the deflating air was dragging me towards the light. I kept my eyes shut as things began to spin and come back to me, the sounds that surrounded me sounded like I was in a hospital with the beeping machines and the smell of a sterile environment hurt my noise with its sharp acidic scent.

My mind began screaming at me to concentrate and to become more aware, but all I wanted to do was go back to the darkness. Loud voices became apparent and I could hear the sound of Bladuds booming voice arguing with another]. Then I heard my mum's voice. She sounded panicky and I could tell she was worried and that didn't settle too well with me. I detached myself from the heart rate monitor and I peeled back the covers. Every time I moved it felt like sharp needles were jabbing under my skin, into my bones and then trying to push the bone apart. The room began to tilt at a dangerous angle but my mom's voice became louder, not allowing me to pause for my brain to catch up.

I stumbled out of the room and down the corridor towards the voices, thanking God as I went that there were no stairs. I swayed unsteady on my feet as I reached a large wooden door. Pushing as hard as I could I opened it, nearly crying with the sharp pains shooting up my arms and down my back and legs. Everyone in the room appeared not to notice me which was probably a good thing as I began to drool at the sight of the man in front of me. His skin was flawless and pale with only a smattering of freckles, his caramel eyes had darker speckles in them, his inky hair falling into his face as he argued. He was dressed head to toe in a black suit, he ran his hand through his hair in frustration. He would have looked like an angel had it not been for the dangerous aura surrounding him. His eyes snapped to mine and his pupils dilated. For a second I forgot how to breathe. I hadn't realised that I was staring at him so much that everyone in the room had turned to look at me like I was crazy.

"Well shit, he is right" Lucas said. I snapped my head to locate Lucas, he looked pale but other than that he looked like he had recovered.

"Hi, how are you? Are you okay? What happened?" I asked walking towards him trying to figure out if there was anything obvious I had missed from across the room, the pain now beginning to subside a little.

"Oh, erm, yeah I'm okay" He replied blushing and looking at the floor. Bladud coughed and cleared his throat looking down at my mum with uncertainty in his eyes. She just stood there staring at him like she wanted to murder him. They just stood there and continued to stare for a good 5 minutes before I got bored of watching them and turned back to Lucas trying to avoid the devil in the room.

"So what was wrong with you?" I asked again.

"We aren't sure" he said, staring at my mother waiting for her to say something.

"Fine tell her, but I'm leaving for now. When she laughs in your faces come and find me." My mum said storming out and giving a look of defeat towards Bladud and Lucas. Bladud just sighed, clenching his fists as he placed them on the desk either side of him. His eyes lingered on the door as it slammed closed. The whole time I could feel the devils eyes burning into my back.

"Feinna you might want to sit down for this, it's fairly big news" Lucas said pushing me towards a sofa that the Devil had already sat himself upon. Wincing as I sat down, I noticed the Devil shift closer. Lucas sat on a chair opposite me and looked at Bladud who just shook his and walked out the room, presumably to go find my mum.

"Right well I guess first things first. You know about werewolves' right?" Lucas asked, looking straight into my eyes making me shift uncomfortably in my seat.

"Yeah I do, there is a pack near here" I responded, blushing slightly.

"Okay well I don't want to know how you know that but don't go near them again, they are an extremely dangerous pack who have a track record of doing some pretty awful things to humans" He looked at me and I just nodded in reply thinking that chances are Lucas wouldn't be too happy if didn't see him again seeing as he was waiting for me to return. "Look there isn't an easy way to say this and I really don't want you to freak out at me. Basically you're living on wolf territory. Everyone you have met so far is a wolf, Shelby, me, my family all wolves, Bladud is our alpha, your mum is now our Luna. Some crazy voodoo shit happened and now I'm your wolf protector, the first time it's happened for about 300 years. I have no idea what I'm meant to do besides protect you from a danger we don't yet know about". He spoke so fast my head began to hurt from me straining to catch it all. I didn't really know what to say in reply so all I said was "oh".
