Dear diary ,
I wish I never met you.

Sun beamed throughly Violets curtains making her eyes slowly open. She threw her silk covers over her face trying to get back to sleep. But she couldn't. all she could hear was birds chirping. Violet groaned in defeat and put on her fluffy slippers and made her way down the narrow stairs.

" Honey you're up! " Her mother boomed ."We are going to be visiting our new neighbours so make sure you're ready  ."

" yes mother ." Violet was about to turn to go to her room  but her mother shouted
" where are you going ? Eat. now."

Violet sighed and picked up the plate with toast and strawberries and gave her mum a sarcastic smile

I wore an old pink collared dress which complemented my olive skin perfectly.
I brushed through my dark knotty  hair until it was smooth . I didn't do anything special with my hair . I'm in meeting neighbours for gods sake.

I wonder which house they've moved in.

Mum was fixing her makeup in the hallways oval mirror and i couldn't help but ask " why have they moved here in the middle of term."

Mum looked annoyed that I was even talking to her  she scrunched up her face and said loudly " Stop asking questions. It's none of our business. Now, let's go."

We made our way to the house opposite  and there was a boy sitting on the spacious porch. I think he was zoned out  . We made eye contact and he immediately got up and left. No word. Nothing . Weird.Maybe he was just shy or nervous. I mean we are just two people holding cookies with fake smiles on our face wanting to see inside a sky blue mansion.

" Go on. Knock then." My mum squealed
I quietly knocked and the door unlocked almost immediately. We were greeted with the same boy on the porch just a minute ago .

Me and my mum both looked at each other conflicted .My mum wouldn't even say anything she just stood there with a weird uncomfortable smile.

The boy had sea blue eyes auburn brown hair hehad a delicate face with a few freckles and thin pink lips. He was wearing a brown checkered shirt with black trousers. He just stared at me. Looking through me.

I had to talk . I couldn't stand this uncomfortable silence . Maybe i would regret it but here goes nothing .
" Hi i'm Violet Whitlock and this is my mom we're live opposite your house . And when my mom heard about new neighbours she couldn't resist to bake cookies and we'll we are here to welcome you to the neighbourhood ." I laughed awkwardly my mum started to join in too

Again, he just stared with no emotion.
What is wrong with this guy?
It's as if something had switched in him and he put on a fake smile
" I'm Henry Creel and nice to meet you ." His blue eyes pierced into mine like daggers.

He wants to kill me.

" What a lovely name. should i pop these cookies in the kitchen lovely?"my mom desperately asked hoping that she would hear the word yes .

Even a child would know that she just wanted to nosy around the house and only dream of living in it .

" my Dad doesn't want visitors so i'll just take them ." he responded with no emotion.

No visitors? They seem friendly.

" Mum just give him the cookies ." I whispered

My mum gave him the cookies with an annoyed look and as we were about to leave Henry said " Thank you... "

I turned around  to smile but he was just giving me an icy stare.

What is his problem?

My thoughts were interrupted by a laugh . A laugh i'd know anywhere . A awkward im gonna ruin your day violet laugh.

" How foolish of me! You two are about the same age . Violet why don't you stay and get to know a Henry."

Henry's eyes widened with discomfort

WHAT! Get to know a starting problem  boy no thanks.

" Mum remember i have that... thing ." i looked at her hinting to go along with it

But ,my mum gave a puzzled look " What thing? "

She failed. Miserably .

" Alright mum , thanks a lot for setting up this "play date" I exclaimed

" Aha , always glad to help have fun you two!"

my mum walked off in a hurry looking backwards and giving me a wave and an encouraging smile basically saying
" tell me what's in that house and if it's better than ours ."

I slowly turned around and Henry was still there absentmindedly fiddling with his shirt button. He snapped out of his trance and his eyes were fixed on me " come in then."

This is great. Just great.
