"Did anything happen at school?" Charlie asked his daughter, watching her pick at her salad at the diner with an absent look on her face. "Hm?" she looked up at him. He was unsure if it was the lightning of the place, but her eyes looked a little red though he decided to not comment on it. "No, nothing happened. I just don't feel so well," Eleanor sighed. "You sure?" "Yeah," she nodded, putting her fork down and pushing the barely half-eaten salad away. Both Bella and Charlie raised an eyebrow, but the latter decided to simply move on and continue eating his steak. Bella, on the other hand, continued to watch Eleanor. Something definitely had happened, and it happened at the Cullen's - because as far as Bella remembered, everything was fine when Eleanor left the school grounds with Jasper. It was when Eleanor came home that she ran straight into her room and locked the door. Bella couldn't even say "Hello". She had debated whether or not to try and talk to her, but when she approached the door, she had heard soft sniffles and knew that Eleanor wanted to be left alone.

Eleanor wasn't a crier - the few times Bella had seen her sister cry were usually related to ballet when she had felt particularly overwhelmed to deliver. However, it was never as bad as it was after the accident. Eleanor had cried for days before she eventually simply didn't talk at all. Both Charlie and Renee had been worried sick, and it took a lot of psychological counselling for Eleanor to get over it. So Bella was sure something had happened. It must have.

When they went home a little later, Eleanor walked straight to her room again - she wanted to be alone, forget whatever had happened today and never speak of it again. As soon as her body hit the bed, tears fell down her cheeks again, and she curled up on herself, hoping that it would comfort her somehow, though, in all reality, it didn't help a bit. She almost felt violated, sick to her stomach because apparently, Jasper had been watching her, worse yet, photographing her like some stalker. It was like Cinderella gone wrong - one minute, Eleanor had felt like she was on top of the world, and within a second, she felt like she had been stuck in a nightmare. And worst of all, Eleanor knew she couldn't tell anyone about it because, inevitably, it meant that the Cullen's secret could be in jeopardy, and no matter what Jasper had done, she didn't have the heart to expose the rest. She had promised them, after all. A knock on her door pulled her out of her thoughts, and she quickly wiped away her tears and sat up. "Yeah?"

Bella entered Eleanor's room quietly, shutting the door behind her. "Is everything alright?" "Mhm Hm," Eleanor nodded, avoiding Bella's eyes, "Just peachy." Bella could only sigh. Her twin was as much of a bad liar as she was, and though it might have fooled Charlie, it sure as hell would not deceive her. "Did anything happen at the Cullen's?" Eleanor looked away as she shook her head. "No. Nothing happened." "Then why have you been crying ever since you came home?" Eleanor thought for a second. She hadn't really thought about what to tell Bella, but again, she had promised to not tell the Cullen's secret. "Bella, you have to promise me something," Eleanor started. Bella looked at her expectantly, as if just waiting for her to finally spill the secrets. "Did they finally tell you..." "Stay away from the Cullen's," Eleanor interrupted her, looking deep into her eyes. "Wha...," Bella's mouth agape. "Stay. Away," Eleanor repeated. "So they did tell you something!" Bella accused her sister. "No," Eleanor shook her head, "Some things you simply...realise." "Realise what exactly?" "Bella, sometimes things are not the way you think they are." Jasper certainly wasn't, Eleanor thought sadly. "Please. I want to be alone right now." Bella only huffed but complied, quietly leaving the room.
