Chapter 6- Tension

As the next few days passed by, Scott became more and more anxious about the current dread doctor situation, school work was forgotten and fun wasn't really a word that existed. That was until Kira had a break through, her mum had told her to read it backwards to trick the fox in her which was surprisingly successful. Meanwhile Stiles and Liam were investigating Theo, behind mine and Scott's back, fortunately Theo was forgiving, however tension lingered in the air as Stiles wasn't giving up as he still didn't trust Theo, he really can be very stubborn sometimes. I hated that Stiles hid this from me which created our first ever minor conflict since we were children. Despite this I was unsure on how to feel about Theo, on one hand my twin completely trusted him, and on the other my boyfriend, who is apparently an expert detective on supernatural issues, doesn't. I remained on the fence and decided to just be cautious around him.

We agreed to hold another pack meeting at lunch, which were becoming increasingly regular, although rarely took place at school as our attendance wasn't exactly good lately, this caused Lydia's mum Mrs Martin to have a little talk with us about showing up to school, which we ignored.
"Ok, so Chimeras" Stiles stated
"What about them?" Scott asked
"What do we do? All we know is that the dread doctors are taking people with two sets of DNA and turning them into supernatural creatures" Stiles explained
"We have to find them i guess, talk to them, try to find out what happened, how the dread doctors made them like this" Scott decided
"Great because that sounds really easy and not life threating at all, maybe after that i can take us all for a ride in my jeep whilst i wear a blindfold, that sounds fun" Stiles said as sarcastic as ever, Scott just sighed frustratedly. We were all frustrated and even dismissing the fact that I was annoyed at Stiles I knew I wasn't the only one who wasn't in the mood for his jokes, we were at breaking point and Theo's next comment pushed Stiles past his.
"I don't think the chimeras are that big of a threat, it's the dread doctors we're after right?"
"Oh of course he would say that, come on guys don't you see what he's doing, he's trying to put us off the scent, literally because he's a dog"
"Stiles just shut up" Scott snapped.
"Me? What did i do? I'm not the one who's trying to sabotage our pack."
"Look we all need to calm down here, let's take a break and cool off" Lydia suggested
"And give him more time to plot his evil plan? You can't tell me you guys are really fooled by his whole Mr nice guy act"
"Stiles!" Scott retaliated
"Fine. Fine. I'm going. Skylar, you coming?"
"I think I'm just gonna stay with Scott" I said quietly
Stiles seemed hurt by this but tried to hide it by turning around and heading to his jeep.
"Scott can we please go" I whispered to him
"Ok" he whispered back. "Lydia's right" he addressed the pack, "let's take some time, we're all exhausted."
They all murmured in agreement and headed home.

Scott and I flopped on the sofa as soon as we got home.
"Well that went well" I groaned. Scott just grunted in reply.
We watched tv in silence until mum got home from the hospital, we helped her make dinner, then sat at the table to eat.
"So how was school?" Mum asked
"Great" I said with a fake smile
"Oh really, because I spoke to Mrs Martin on the phone today and apparently you two have hardly being going, even today you bunked off of your afternoon lessons"
"Come on mum we've been busy trying to save people, you know that, and you also know how important it is, it's literally your job"
"Hey, don't try that with me. I know how hard it is on you dealing with all of Beacon Hills' supernatural problems whilst being a teenager, but you still have to go to school, graduate, go to college. Ok?"
"Yea ok mum, can I please go upstairs I'm tired?" Scott asked
"Fine"
Once mum and I had finished eating she went to bed and I cleared our plates and was just about to head up when the doorbell rang. I walked to the door, half terrified I would open it and a dread doctor would be standing on my doorstep. Nevertheless I opened it anyway.
"Stiles"
"Yea"
"You used the doorbell?"
He broke a smile, which was something I hadn't seen in a while. I missed it.
"Can I come in?"
"Sure" I moved out of the way to let him in and went and sat on the sofa. He stood awkwardly next to it, not sure whether to sit down or not.
"Stiles" I said softly
He sat down and took my hands in his.
"Sky, I'm really sorry I didn't tell you about Liam and I investigating Theo and I'm really sorry about today I'm just trying to protect the pack. Protect you."
"Stiles, I hate what this whole Theo thing has caused, us being upset with each other, you and Scott being upset with each other. I'm not telling you to trust Theo, I'm telling you to not let it cause problems between all of us. And you can keep looking into Theo if you want, I'm not 100% sure I trust him either, just tell me about it ok?"
"Yea of course. Are we good now?"
"Yea, we're good"
He placed a soft kiss to my lips then pulled me into a tight hug. I asked Stiles to stay and he agreed, we went up to my room and just laid there on the bed in each other's arms until we fell asleep.
