*the next day*

I woke up to the sun glaring though my window and a silhouette of a person standing in front of it.
"Skylar, it's 12 o'clock already, get up!"
"Really mum?"
"Yes, now get your butt out of bed before I drag you out myself"
"Ugh, fine"

I descended the stairs fairly quickly after my shower, having decided that I'm actually quite hungry. Scott was standing in front of the fridge, his head halfway in, rummaging through what little food was in there.

"Mum, there's nothing to eat" he whined
"Well I have a shift now, so you'll have to go to the grocery store. Take Skylar with you"
"Do I have to?"
"You aren't exactly capable of doing it yourself, so yes. Money's on the side." She said, closing the door behind her.

Scott glared at me and grabbed his helmet along with his spare and held it out to me.
"You really think I'm going on that thing?"
"Well I'm not walking and unless you want run along side it...."
"Whatever" I grunted

I tied my hair into a loose, low pony and pulled the helmet over my head. Scott mounted the bike first and I clambered on after him.
"You might wanna hold on" Scott advised with a hint of humour in his eyes, I rolled mine in response. He accelerated with a lurch and I immediately regretted my decision to ignore Scott. My fight or flight response kicking in, I grabbed onto him, clutching desperately at his jacket.

Once we had arrived at the store, we grabbed bread, chips, that kinda stuff and went to pay. As we were standing in line I finally got the courage to ask Scott about the elephant in the room.
" Scott, are you mad at me?"
"No"
"Okaayy then, are you mad at Stiles?"
"No"
"Then what's the problem?"
"It's just weird okay, do what you want but it's just gonna take some getting used to from me" he sighed frustratedly
"I get it, love you bro"
"Shut up" Scott rolled his eyes and lightly punched my arm. "Love you too" the last bit was barely audible
"What was that?" I asked mockingly
Scott began to glare daggers at me, but finally we were at the front of the line.

When we got home we ate lunch before Stiles pulled into our driveway. He opened the door and walked to the kitchen.
"Stiles, hey! What are you doing here?"
"Hi Stiles"
"So Lydia and I went to see Gabriel and he said if we read the book it will bring our memories back." Stiles rushed out
"Okay, I'll text the pack to come over tonight to read it" Scott replied
"What the hell's going on?"
"Oh sorry, Malia found a book in Tracy's bedroom. It's called The Dread Doctors. It was written by Gabriel Valack, a patient at Eichen house, hopefully it'll let us remember seeing them"
"First of all, what in God's name is a dread doctor and why didn't you tell me sooner"
"You were kinda busy with moving and I didn't want to worry you." Scott admitted
"Well I am worried, now tell me everything you know"

*That evening*

The pack arrived as well as this guy Theo, he went to school with us in the fourth grade but he seems kinda off I don't really know why.
"So all we have to do is read this book and our memories come back?" Kira asked
"From what Gabriel told us yes." Lydia responded
"Seems simple enough" Scott said optimistically.

A few hours had passed and I was half way through the book, although it wouldn't bring back any memories, because I didn't have any, it might stop them from disappearing in the future.
"I'm exhausted, can we take a break?" I asked
"Yea, I'm starving" Stiles replied
"You're always starving" Lydia snarked
"Ok I'll order pizza and Skylar you can take a nap if you want, I'll wake you up when it arrives" Scott responded, I nodded my head and went upstairs.

I woke up to being shaken gently. As I opened my eyes I gazed up into a set of brown ones, turned slightly caramel by the moonlight filtering in through the window.
"Stiles" I almost questioned, slightly confused
"Pizza's here"
"Oh ok" I said climbing out of bed
"You sound surprised"
"Yea, i forgot you were here"
"You clearly think I'm so forgettable" he mocked, clutching at his heart
"That's not what I meant Stiles, in fact I think you're quite the opposite"
"Oh really, how so?"
"Umm, well you're funny, not in an obvious laugh out loud kinda way, but in a more subtle, sarcastic way and I don't know anyone else who would drive in the pouring rain just to pick up his best friend's sister"
He blushed, his lips curving up into a slight smile.
"Thank you, you're pretty special too" he said softly.

We went down the stairs in silence and rejoined the rest of the group.
"Hey sleepy head, what took you guys so long?" Scott greeted with a mouthful of pizza
"Thanks for waiting" I said rolling my eyes whilst ignoring his question.
After finishing all of the pizza, we half heartedly picked up the books again to try and make some more progress.

After another few hours of sitting in silence reading, we had all finished.
"Ok, anyone remember anything?'" Scott inquired. No one replied. "Great" he exasperated.
"Maybe it takes time" Lydia proposed
"Maybe" Liam agreed, trying to cheer Scott up
"We don't have time" Scott said, looking defeated
"C'mon Scott you need to sleep, we'll come up with another plan in the morning" I encouraged, glancing at the clock on the table behind me, which showed that it was morning in obnoxious red numbers. I turned it so it was facing down and ushered Scott upstairs.

After saying goodbye to everyone else, Stiles was the only pack member remaining.
"Night Sky" he smiled sleepily and kissed my forehead
"Night Stiles" I replied softly as he opened the door to leave. I closed it behind him and waited until i heard the slightly alarming sound of the engine, getting quieter and quieter as Stiles drove further away, become no more and once again I returned to bed.
