" So we are going on a train because the strika jet needs repairs?" Shakes swallowed nervously. Ever since that incident with skarra, he had been nervous about trains. I mean, sure he did get out safely but still. Almost getting your head runover by a train would make anyone skittish about locomotives.

"Yeah," El Matador replied. No one had noticed how Shakes' eye twitched at that. He had told them that he had been fine in the jungle, only that he was mad about Skarra's betrayal and that the jungle had been dark, smelly, and that Skarra had annoyed the heck out of him. He never mentioned a train, or even going on the rails.

He regretted that now.

Shakes looked at the train nervously and gulped, petting glacia's head anxiously. Maybe he should tell the team... but he didn't want to appear weak. He didn't want them to bully him like...

Nope not telling them. Not at all. Totally not scared of a train. Noooope not afraid at all. mm-mm. No.

"Shakes, are you... okay?" Tiger asked cautiously. Shakes nodded frantically. Tiger raised an unimpressed eyebrow. Come on, he wasn't that obvious in how scared he was. He looked on to the rails confidently, and saw the rails tremble...

He could feel it under his feet as he kicked that ball, a sure sign of a train heading down the rails he was walking on...

 He heard the whistle...

The deafening blast made his eardrums scream for mercy as he sprinted along the tracks, pulling skarra up when he fell, then skarra abandoning him, as his head crashed onto the line...

He glalnced at the train zooming to take the team to Gashuku...

He saw it as he sat up, chugging towards him at an alarming rate as he desperately searched for an escape route before his blood splattered across the tracks. He ran forward towards the train to find the broken wood and hang onto it for dear life as the locomotive thundered overhead.

He couldn't do this.

Tiger watched Shakes closely as his eyes went glassy and unfocused when the train zoomed up to meet them. "Shakes?" he heard El Matador call out to the panicking team mate. Tiger hurried towards the teen when Shakes suddenly fell to the floor and scrambled backwards until he hit the wall. Tiger saw his chest heaving and knew immeadiately that Shakes was having a panic attack. A cry of alarm went up from the teammates as they surged forward

El Matador ran past Tiger and sat down next to Shakes. "Shakes amigo, can you feel this?" he asked gently as he tok one of Shakes's hands and placed it on his chest, so he could feel the steady heartbeat. Shakes nodded, breathing erratic. "Good, try to breathe like me amigo, okay?" ElMatador instructed, taking deep, exaggerated breaths to help Shakes calm down. Shakes mimicked his breaths and slowly started to relax. Glacia nuzzled her head under Shakes's arm and put her head on his chest. Shakes gave a wet laugh and started to stroke Glacia, whose tail started wagging, glad that her master had finally calmed down and overidden the panic attack.

"Shakes, can you tell us what caused your panic attack please amigo?" El Matador inquired. Shakes stilled, then let out a sigh. "Guess i can't keep it from you guys anymore...," he muttered, then spoke a bit louder, " When me and skarra were in that jungle, he insisted we go the fast way across the hills; along a railway. While we were on there, a train....started coming towards us, and we ran. Skarra fell, and i helped him up.... but the force i used pushed me down and he left me... concerned about only himself... it was probably one of the narrowest encountered i have ever faced...," Shakes stopped talking, tears pooling in his eyes. El Matador hesitated, then gently pushed Shakes's head into his chest. Shakes's dam burst. "I was so scared Matador!" he sobbed into his shirt. El Matador just let him cry, the rest of the team looked on in sorrow. Once Shakes's whimper's died down, North asked tentatively, "Why didn't you tell us?" Shakes sat up and whiped his eyes, "I didn't want you guys to think of me as weak-" "Shakes brother, you survived a train accident, you are anything but weak, understand?" Cool Joe said forcefully, yet kindly at the same time. Shakes nodded and rubbed Galcia's head. "Okay," he whispered. He got up unsteadily, as El Matador led him to the train, keeping a comforting arm on his shoulder.

Shakes smiled as he sat in the carriage, his friends sitting around him, distracting him from the noise of the train bumping along the track. No. This wasn't his friends.

This was his family.
