Dedicated to Sharralover for the absolutely STUNNING idea! Seriously I'm so proud someone thought of this and I really enjoyed writing it.

Ice Cream

Shakes was having a hard time.

A really hard time.

Seriously guys, stop laughing at him.

This is the hardest situation he's ever been in.

He just can't decide between the blue or green ice cream.

And it was not like his team and Skarra were actually assisting him in this difficult decision.

"You guys are NOT helping!" hissed Shakes, looking angrily at the laughing men. Skarra walked over and slung an arm over his shoulder, chuckling. Shakes huffed and rolled his eyes. "Come on dude," Skarra said, "How about I take green and you take blue!" Shakes looked at Skarra. Hmmmm......

"Yeah! I always ate blue anyway,"

Shakes ignored the chuckling of his team behind him for the sake of Skarra smiling fondly at him. God, he missed this friendship.

Once everyone who wanted ice cream had got their ice cream from Rasta's fridge, they went outside. Some of them, like rasta, Big Bo and Tiger had finished their ice cream already and were cooking on the barbecue or making the drinks. Cool Joe was chilling in the ring floating on the pool, while North was still inside with Blok, trying to make the tallest ice cream to ever exist. Everyone else was relaxing either in the pool or on the deck chairs.

Shakes watched Skarra as he spilled some of the ice cream on himself and not noticing he was staining his favourite t-shirt. The memory took over before he had time to think.

"Skarra! Look what you've done! Your mama is gonna be soooo mad!" Shakes giggled as he watched Skarra frantically rub his shirt in the water fountain near his house, trying to get the stain off before his mum saw.

The two children were barefoot, both in ragged shorts and t-shirts, eating the ice cream they had secretly nicked from Skarra's fridge. They had a dusty old football near them. The people were poor in the area, but the community was amazing. Everybody knew the two youngest children who had dreams of joining the Super League.

"You are NOT telling ma, she'll kill me!" Skarra muttered panickedly to the giggling child. Shakes just continued to laugh. Skarra gave up being stern and smiled fondly at the younger. It had been three months since Nandi died, and it was the first time he had smiled.

Shakes shrieked as Skarra chased him round the fountain, the two screaming and running around playfully . They didn't realise that Skarra's mum was watching them, recording this precious moment. Two children, running around joyfully without a care in the world.

Shakes covered his mouth, laughing silently, shoulders shaking. Skarra saw the movement and turned alarmed, thinking he was choking. "Shakes?!" Cool Joe and E Matador turned at the exclamation. Skarra watched as Shakes shook his head, still shaking. He pointed to Skarra's shirt and he looked down, pinching his shirt. "Aww maaan! My favourite shirt!" Skarra watched Shakes laughing before he smiled mischievously. Shakes looked at him still happy with a trace of fear at the devious look on Skarra's face. "Wha- what are you gonna- SKARRA WHAT THE HELL PUT ME DOWN!!!" Skarra laughed like a lunatic as he swung Shakes around in his arms. "Who wants to cannonball into the water? Shakes does!" "No I don't!" "Three.....two.....one!" Skarra chucked the kid into the pool, before jumping in with him. The team smiled at the two in the water, shrieking joyfully.
