I made the freaking AAU team! I don't know how because I got to admit, I had some tough competition. But I'm happy that I made it.
First AAU Game...
These games were way different than middle school ball. They were more challenging, and very suspenseful. Our team won the jumpball. I brought the ball up the court, and passed the ball to the center, but he missed the layup. I have to admit, they had very good defense.
Halftime...
The game was tied at 19-19. I had 6 points and 1 assist, including 1 steal. Our coach even admitted that the other team might be better, unless we play good defense.
Start of 3rd quarter...
I brought up the ball, again. I threw a no-look flashy pass to the shooting guard, and my defender got lost! The good news is that the shooting guard was wide open for the 3-point shot, and he drained it!
4th quarter...
The game was tied at 31-31. I brought the ball slowly. There were 8 seconds left. I did a stepback, and my man really fell, and guess what? I drained the 3 point basket! We won 34-31. I had 12 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Plus, I had a 67% 3 point percentage! I'm just really glad that we won our first game. I tell you, everyone just admired my talent of basketball. They said I made a lot of good shots, but I also made beautiful passes. But then...
