Chapter Three

For the majority of the next day, I had to take several moments to compose myself. My wolf knew exactly what day this was, as it was forced to the conscious of me. Thankfully all of the men around me knew what I was going through, Alpha Holden sent me home after lunch, saying to group at the town council house, which hard the largest part of the forest behind it all and is where the first time shifters went. The Pack leaders would always be here every full moon.

I knew the pull of the full moon was strong for them, but they all had enough control to not shift, until the first time shifters had it under control and weren't putting themselves in danger, regardless if the human part of them were conscious in the wolf.

Jimin came around to mine after his Dad sent him away for the day. We spent the time on the balcony, talking to one another as we looked out at the forest around us, on each sun lounger.

I could feel my wolfs excitement, which nearly made me smile.

That made me wonder something that I'm not even sure if I knew the question to, "can you tell even before you shift if you are mated? When you start feeling your wolfs emotions"

Jimin pursed his lips, "you have to shift for it come into effect. Just like how my mate could be somebody who hasn't shifted yet"

I dragged my eyes away from him, glancing at the sun set. In the corner of my eye I saw him get up and come onto my sun lounger, he put his legs either side of me as he picked up my legs to settled them around his waist.

I took hold of his hands as he rested them on my stomach, just holding them.

"Is it selfish of me to hope you don't have a mate?" He breathed out.

I gave him a gentle smile, "I wouldn't say so. I feel the same"

Jimin leant down to press his lips against mine quickly, "life isn't as simple to just make us mates, is it?"

I breathed out a sad smile, "I think you are right"

We both had accepted that we were most likely not mates, because like Jimin just said, it wasn't as simple as that and we weren't that lucky.

He was then quiet for a handful of seconds, still looking down at me but had a very soft expression, pouting his full lips together lightly, "I don't want to live in the fear of either one of our mates turning up or shifting, but I will do that if it means I can have you"

My heart felt like it was so warm, making my chest drop in the best way from the words.

I reached up to cup his check.

Please don't let me have a mate.

Unless it's Jimin.

The time to make our way to the town council grounds, came around far too quickly. But I could already feel the dull ache in my bones, all around my hips and shoulders, as the full moon continued to raise in the sky.

I only had on a black tank top, and loose grey cotton shorts, since I knew the clothes would just rip apart. Some of us went completely naked, but for the best part, while we knew we would be shifting for the first time it gave some comfort being clothed.

There were three others here that were first time shifters and I smiled at them all as I passed them. A handful of other Pack members were here, the family members of the other shifters.

My Dad gave me a wink as we looked at one another.

I barely heard a word of what Alpha Holden was saying, but I felt the comforting presence of him, from my wolf. She recognised the Alpha, by the voice, and the pull of his own wolf.

As I looked at Jimin, I also felt the connection with him from him being the next Alpha in line, and I loved that. My wolf was dancing, I could almost feel the changing in my limbs, she was pushing me ahead in letting me out.

"You are going to start feeling it soon, as it's nearly time. Sit down on the ground and just let it go. You know it's going to hurt, but trust me in saying it'll only be this once, you will be tired for a good few days but it won't hurt with each shift" I heard Holden's voice, as I sat down on the ground once he said, I could feel Jimin walking just a few steps closer to me, the connection with our wolves always there from me being his Beta.

My wolf was pushing very hard against the barrier in my mind, I could feel some of her leaking through. Then it surprised me as I felt the almost permission from her, she didn't want to spring out, she wanted me to be ready.

I smiled and shut my eyes.

I pulled the barrier away, and within moments I hissed, the feeling of burning starting in my chest, pushing outwards. It felt like my skin was on fire, and my teeth grit hard together as I hunched over on the ground, my forehead pressing onto the dirt.

It's not for long. And the pain is only this once.

That helped me for a few seconds, but that I could feel the twisting all around my bones and horrible clicking sounds filled my ears. The screams of the other first time shifters echoed around me.

I felt my wolf pulling me away, and I knew why. She was trying to take full control so I didn't have to go through this. I let her, as I felt the trust between us already forming.

When I came into consciousness, my vision was blurred for a few seconds, before I realised I was brushing past the forest around me in such a fast pace. But it felt like my limbs were in such control of each place my paw would land.

I slowed down, feeling my wolf and how happy she was. It warmed me even more, and she was proud in some ways.

I glanced down at my paws. Pure white.

It did make me wonder on what the rest of my body looked like. My senses were in a place of welcomed overdrive, I enjoyed being able to hear things for miles, letting me know there was a stream just to the left of me. I leant over the water's edge, the fur around my wolf was all pure white. And I loved that, as it reminded me of my human body.

Run?

The voice of my wolf nearly made me scatter in this form wolf. But then I felt her asking permission to take control again, which I gladly let go to, grinning in my own way as I felt her fast she could truly go.

We ran for hours, all around our territory, right around the edge of it. I don't think I had ever been this happy.

I pulled back at her, sensing how she was now getting tired. This really had surprised me in how control I was, I don't know what I was expecting.

I felt the pull of my future Alpha, making my wolf excited.

However I, felt nervous.

On the other side of the stream, I saw a grey wolf jump into view. He paused on top of the rock, looking over at me with his large eyes. Waiting and expecting.

A little confession though, Jimin smut was meant to be in the beginning in this chapter but I found it didn't flow very well, and didn't fit with the vibe of this chapter so I've kept it for another chapter.
