Chapter 13

It was 8:55 AM and Taehyung locked his apartment as usual and headed to the 15th floor. He walked slowly looking at the frames all along the floor, which contained wildlife photographs, hills, sunsets and much more. He kept admiring the work until he heard a muffled cry of a boy. He frowned and his foot steps automatically led him to where the cry came from. He stood outside room number 312 and only then he noticed he came to the 14th floor, the normal ward. He knocked on the room and the cry stopped abruptly. He was confused. A man, aged about 24 unlocked the door and gave a questionable look. Meanwhile Tae blinked at the person and "Doctor?", "Oh I'm an intern and I'm in rounds for today's daily check up. Why are you here young man?" The person asked back. "Um I heard a boy cry and I thought to check up." He did not forget to catch the name of the intern from the badge he wore. "Oh these kids are scared of the injection and giving me a hard time now." The doctor blurted out. "I'm sorry it's ok carry on". Tae bowed and turned around listening to the rough sound of the closing door.

Tae felt uneasy and suspicious. It's been 2 weeks since he joined the job and he came to know more about the hospital, the doctors and staffs treat every patient with genuine care. But this particular 312 room disturbed him. However, he took a mental note to check after the boy later.

"Hyung, good morning" Tae shouted excited.

"Ah baby rise and shine" Jin exclaimed back.

"What will we be doing today?"

"Well we'll check your SpO2, the oxygen level in your blood and check if this will affect your body as it's equally important."

"Oh that's great. I didn't meet chimmy yesterday. Is he busy?"

"Oh he is out of station baby. You know duty calls. Hop up the bed"

"Oh, I thought he would be back by the previous night." Tae climbed the bed and lay down. He felt a lite sting as Jin injected the IV as usual and started the process. "Hyung the Mozart collection that Suga hyung listens is amazing. I wish I establish a library like him someday. Joonie hyung gave few candies which tasted awesome. I would eat a whole pack had I know where he bought them. Do you think i should ask him where he bought them? The problem is if I ask him he'll buy them in tonne and make me eat candies all life long. But am I allowed to eat as much as the candies i want? That won't affect the treatment? I would tell you are the luckiest hyung. Joonie hyung is going to take good care of you. Kook didn't show up yesterday and I went to his cabin to give him the candies too but he was not there and then I again ... " Tae kept ranting and Jin was running all tests humming to the younger occasionally as he knew this became a regular call that Tae is talkative.

"OK Tae it's done and now let's wait for results as usual yeah?"

"I love this job" Tae sighed contented.

"Well we have a long journey to the main part " Jin chuckled.

"Is it going to be long?"

"I hope it is"

"Hyung do you employ the interns as physicians after their internship is over?"

"Ah its mostly a yes Tae until they are below the level of qualifying as a doctor."

"Do you think all the doctors in our hospital will be kind and caring like you and Joonie hyung?"

Jin turned around surprised. "Tae whoever, is employed here should be responsible and answerable to the dean and they should come up with clean hands when it is about dealing with patients." Jin looked at Tae suspicious offended with the fact that Tae is doubting their doctors' morals.
