Chapter 4

(Sly POV)

I was about done with this long journey I was taking to Sweden, and after that Russia. The reason for my journey was to convince Sweden to stay neutral and for Russia to flip and join the Critters, which would give the Critters an advantage in the coming battle. I knew that both of these kingdoms were important in staying out of the war, in Sweden's case, and the numbers and extra supplies Russia had.

"Who goes there?" I heard a voice call out, jerking me out of my thoughts.

"It is Sly, leader of China, I come just to have a peaceful conversation with your leader Dan." I called back as I stopped at the Swedish gates and jumped off my horse into one of the many piles of snow.

After about ten minutes of waiting, the gates opened up and Dan walked out flanked by two guards, both who were armed with longswords.

"Can two leaders not have a conversation without guards interrupting us? I came unarmed and all I wish to do is negotiate with your knowledgable leader." I said, putting my hands slightly above my head to prove my point.

"You may leave us gentlemen but send out patrols to the eastern borders." Dan finally said after a few moments thought, causing the two guards to reluctantly leave the two leaders alone.
(3rd Person POV)

"So, what 'peace negotiations' did you come to discuss?" Dan asked as he took in the rival leader dressed in all orange and black with a hood with orange fox ears, which Dan didn't know whether they were real or not, instead of a crown.

"I actually came more to propose to you a deal if you stay neutral in this impending war." Sly began, earning an incredulous look from the Swedish leader.

"Are you crazy? Do you think I would stay neutral while you and your allies are busy destroying my friends' land?" Dan exclaimed angrily, one of the few times during his reign that he had burst out at someone like he was doing now.

"I expected an answer like this, which is why I would like to propose a deal that I don't think you can refuse." Sly said, a devious grin appearing on his face.

"And what would this deal be?" Dan asked, seeing the look on Sly's face and figured that the deal would not be good for him and his kingdom.

"A non-aggression pact, saying that if you do no harm to any of my allies, or send your allies any help, I will, along with my allies, will not attack your kingdom." Sly proposed to the king, his mischievous grin still on his face, waiting for Dan's answer.

After a few minutes of thinking, accompanied by pacing, Dan finally gave Sly an answer, as the clever ruler thought of a loophole to the pact.

"Well, where's the paper I need to sign at? I have other business to attend today besides this." Dan said as Sly smiled and brought out the paper Dan would be signing from seemingly nowhere.

"Glad doing business with you Dan. I wish you the best of luck in the days to come." Sly said after Dan finished signing the paper, picking the pact up and giving a mock now to the Swedish leader before giving a fake bow of farewell before he jumped back onto his horse and ride off.

"I really hope that this plan works out." Dan muttered to himself, wondering what he had just gotten himself into.

The young leader of Russia just wanted to fall over in exhaustion because of the amount of work he had to deal with that day, and when one of his most experienced guards led in a fox fur clad man, Aleks knew he would not be getting much, if any sleep, that night.

"Why hello there Aleksandr, nice to finally see you again my old friend." Sly said with mock happiness as he walked towards the Russian leader with a hand held out for Aleks to shake.

"And you too, if only it could be on better terms." Aleks said, shaking Sly's hand before sitting down on his throne and asked, "Now, what do you want this time Sly?"

"You know me so well Aleksandr, I guess I can just get straight to business with you then." Sly said with a grin as he took in the younger leader's white cape, a long-sleeved dark blue shirt with dark red pants and a white crown with red and blue jewels to adorn it.

"I suspect you remember our friendship from many years ago and I wanted to see if we could reform it. We would start up our trade routes again and maybe send a few forces of your soldiers to assist China against its enemies while me and my allies will do nothing to harm your kingdom." the leader of China proposed, trying to sound as sincere as possible.

A/N oh no! The chapter's over? At a cliffhanger? Darn, I guess you'll have to wait till the next chapter to find out Aleks' answer. But wait I here you ask, when will the new chapter be out? Well, if I'm not lazy I should have it out before June 6th because I will be on a work trip where I will not be able to write this :( Anywaysss...... put in the comments what you think Aleks answer will be!
