"Charles..!"

Viviano DiSalvi... He handed me a glass of white wine, inviting me in.

"I'm suprised to see you here. Teerana was sure you'd bail on her.", he claimed while we entered the backyard.

I backed away from the swarm of rich people, heading to the house.

"I'm going to go inside to set down my backpack. Talk to you later..?"

Or never. It's been so long since I've been here, I forgot about how socially draining it is, even if I didn't chat with anyone yet.

My best friend's fiance attempted to follow me, but I started zooming through the guests and he lost track of me.

I slammed open the back yard door that lead to the inside. I would escape by the front door and go home with Jess an-

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE YOU ผู้บุกรุก?", shouted a voice behind me.

I didn't know what that meant but it sure didn't sound nice. I acknowledged in my head who yelled at me. Yeah, the Visalyaputras, obviously... I pivoted, facing them. Raagini was in a washed out baby pink nightgown while Teerana's father was still in normal clothing. I cleared my throat before saying:

"I'm leaving right now, sorry to have disturbed you..."

"Not so fast, หญิงสาว. You think you can just barge into our house and then act as if nothing happened?"

"Your daughter is literally hosting a party in the backyard as we speak and I'm one of the guests. Please..!", I arrogantly noted.

They shrivelled up, on the edge of letting me go away when Raagini's husband spat out:

"So impolite to your elders! Who raised you?"

Myself... I raised myself...

It's funny how only one sentence could make all the memories bubble back up to the surface in a few seconds.

I was starting to walk out on them when someone took my arm, aggressively squeezing it.

"You need to be disciplined, you cannot act like tha-"

My mind went blank as I do not listen to Teerana's dad reprimanding me. I was not the problem here. They knew me. And they still acted this way. They were no better than my mom with Jess. And I was always going back to them... On the other hand, my mother really scared my little brother. She lacked responsibility and love for him.

I was about to end this non-necessary idiocy when a deep voice startled us:

"Stop... Stop SCREAMING AT HER. HOW DO YOU LIKE BEING IN HER POSITION, พ่อเลี้ยง?!"

Viviano...

Even if I wanted to forget him, could I? No. He was always there...

Though I would've been fine standing up to Teerana's parents on my own.

Weirdly, his father-in-law let go of my arm and apologized to my friend.

"Say sorry to Charles, not me...", Viviano answered sternly.

Tee's father seemed to hesitate, he probably didn't think he did anything wrong.

I would not be going back to the Visalyaputras' anymore. This was the last straw. I was not made to be here, I ruined everything in their life. I almost wrecked Teerana and Viviano's fake relationship, now I got into a fight with my best friend's parents...
