Big Break (Requested)

A/n: Possible romance, pretty normal chapter. Hope u enjoy :)

@revolutionari Hi! freshly baked chapter :) PS coincidentally, before you requested this chapter, I was actually watching Ariana's highlights on the voice & was like damn. I wish I could be on the voice :D

Your legs were trembling under your feet. 

This was the first time you had ever been on The Voice and you were nervous as anything.

As the announcer called your name, you gulped, and slowly walked on stage.

~Flashback~

Ever since you were a little kid, you loved to sing, even though you thought you weren't that good and were painfully shy.

You kept on practicing, but people made fun of you, saying that you would never be a good singer.

Well look at you now.

Both your mom and dad couldn't make it to the show, saying that they were too busy with work and that you wouldn't win anyways.

It all started when you were singing a solo in a school play. You almost passed out from the nervousness, but managed to stutter through the song.

Little did you know that there was actually a talent scout at the play, looking for kid to coach to turn into the next big thing.

Surprisingly, she actually picked you to coach, and your music career was launched.

~End of flashback~

As you carefully walked on stage, you heard the thunderous applause of the audience. Then you saw the judges and your face drained of any color it had.

Ariana Grande.

THE Ariana Grande was a judge on The Voice.

You completely forgot why you were there, and as the music started to play, you missed your queue. 

You opened your mouth and nothing came out. The judges looked at you confused, wondering why you weren't singing.

Ariana looked so sad and disappointed, because she would probably have to fail you because you missed your queue. It broke your heart to think that already you had screwed up your chances of her being your coach.

You snapped back into real life and decided to started the song again, blushing bright red from embarrassment. 

As the song started to play again, this time you opened your mouth and sung your heart out remembering to hit all the high notes and harmonize with the chords, making an overall stunning performance.

When you sung the first note perfectly, it surprised the judges, making them turn around. All except for Ariana.

You were very disappointed because you loved her and wanted her to be your coach so bad that it hurt to even think about it.

You admired her. Worshiped her even, and to think that you weren't talented enough almost made you cry on stage.

Ariana's POV

I couldn't believe how well this girl could sing. 

At first I thought she was gonna be one of those singers who put in a lot of passion and make their voices go all husky so they sound good but actually don't.

This girl on the other hand, hit all the notes so perfectly, I almost thought it was me up there. (Not to brag but yuh)

All the other judges turned around immediately, amazed at how such a small person could have such a big voice.

I waited a couple of verses to see her style of singing before hitting the buzzer to turn my chair around.

I was always the strictest coach, and almost rarely turned around unless someone had a very unique or beautiful voice.

Something to work with.

When the song ended, the girl looked back at the judges shyly, obviously aware of how well she performed.

As usual, Kelly started off the conversation by asking the girl's name, age, and where she was from.

"Umm uh my name is y/n, I'm 25 years old and I'm from the US." she said, gaining some confidence.

Then Kelly tried to persuade y/n to join her team, but i could clearly see that y/n only had eyes for me.

I was incredibly flattered, because even when I decided to turn my chair, most of the time people went with the other coaches rather than me.

The it was John's turn then Blakes and then finally my turn.

"Y/n, it would mean the world to me if you were on my team. You have the most unique voice, and amazing ability to hit even the highest notes perfectly."

*To the audience* 

"Actually sounds a bit like me"

*Audience laughs*

Y/n's POV

I was absolutely flattered that Ariana Grande wanted me on her team. I was even more surprised how I got all the judge to turn around even though I messed up the beginning.

Was I really that good? Nah...

As each judge tried to persuade me to be on their team, I only half listened eagerly waiting for  moment where I could choose which judge I wanted to go with.

I would choose Ariana obviously no second thoughts about it.

"And I would like to go with..."
