The door closed behind them, all noise from the previous room was blocked by the door. The air felt still and cold nearly unbreathable or so it felt. The only thing that echoed threw the hall of the facility was the groups steps and breaths. It wasn't safe, At least not anymore, time was ticking for the group and the could feel it.
"It doesn't seem like anything is here yet, that's good, I think..? But maybe if we proceed we'll not see anything... I hope" Merry spoke in a low quiver-like whisper
"I'll go out first, if any of you numbskulls don't hear from me in a few minutes expect the worse" said Everest undoing a small pocket knife in her hand while walking deeper into the darkness
"Wait Everest! Don't start walking off! If you go, the group goes. There's safety in numbers. We don't want anyone to die on this voyage!" Loyal said nearly tripping over himself trying to get to the girl
Oliver would leap onto his feet in excitement and glee, "so everyone here can be a hero!" Oliver said walking forward gleefully,
"heros? Tsk we'll never be heros, that's the only reason you volunteered isn't it? I kinda feel bad for your sister, Oliver you dragged her along side you just to be a quote on quote 'hero'" Everest said with a somewhat hateful tone as she walked faster
"H-hey wait up for us!" Loyal spoke while picking up the pace
"We should go too" Merry said to Iva grabbing her hand while following the three in-front of her
"Alright" Iva spoke with tiredness in her voice while walking with Merry

The noise would break all silence in the hall, it sounded metallic-like yet not exact as it echoed loudly threw the hall

A silence fell over the group. The small chitchat out immediately be stopped in the presence of the noise,
"W-what was that" Iva whispered hugging onto merry being awoken in a fright
"I don't know Iva. Maybe it was far enough to not be a danger" merry whispered back. "I'm sure it was nothing" she said slightly louder in an attempt to calm the group
"Ah yes, the scraping noise of something was totally nothing" Everest scoffed overhearing their conversation
"Everyone calm down," Oliver took a breath "I'm sure of what ever it was, that it has most likely left"
"Most likely?!?" Everest argued
"it's most likely still here!. It's most likely going to fucking kill us all, that's what most likely going to fucking happen!"
The group fell into a quiet and frightful frenzy
"Listen. Everyone will be fine, if we die we will be together. We will die fighting for our life's instead of cowering in the corner like a mouse" loyal said infront of everyone with bravery and honesty in an attempt to uplift everyone's spirits as he continued
"we aren't mice in a cage are we? We are people that can fight. We are people that will fight for our life's and-

A loud hiss echoed threw the halls alongside a fast yet heavy stepping, it would disrupting the speech that loyal was saying and would disturb the group more then It was already
"That sounded closer!?!" Lva yelped in fear
"It was thanks to my friend loyal's AmAzInG sPeEch, what ever it is, it know we're here most likely" Everest said in a hateful remark
"Hey! It's not my fault that it overheard me" loyal exclaimed
"We'll if you'd never even made it, it wouldn't have overheard you correct?" Everest replied with dislike in her tone
"And you made everyone feel bad" loyal argued
"I made everyone sad because I told the truth?" Everest locked horns in the argument seeming to never stop
"Everyone,  We are in danger!" Merry said quivering at this point with Iva

A relatively small one legged gootraxion collapsed on the ground, it had a yellowish color to it and seemed to be wearing a grey bucket atop its head, It seemed heavily injured and very scaredy. It looked at the group of humans in a frightful way as it hissed softly as it's grey tail clasped
around its leg as it squirmed. Purple glowing horns sprouted out of the creatures head as the grey bucket starting to meld with the original goo, It's legs were covered in the grey substance as it attempted to scream, the same glowing purple appendages started sprouting out of its back as the grey goo covered the body of the original gootraxion. The new patterns would start to unveil themselves as its eyes turn purple, the creature limped away without a thought

"W-what..? H-how..? " Iva said confused and worried
"It could've been us" Everest said coldly
"Let's go." Loyal spoke walking forward
Both Merry and Oliver stood there processing what happened
"Cmon guys" Iva said letting go of merry and walking off following the rest of the group
The two follow a bit confused and concerned of what they heard
