Lizzie's POV:

I was getting ready to go out to the store while my daughter Lily was watching Tv. My mom was going to watch her while I went out and I was waiting for her to arrive. Ever since my husband died a few years ago my mom has had to help out a lot. I don't know what I would do without her.

"Lily, grandma is going to be here soon!" I told my daughter as I was getting my grocery bags. "Yay!" She cheered and ran around the house and jumped on the couch.

Once my mom got here I left to do my errands. While I was walking down the aisles I bumped into someone. "Sorry!" I apologized to the man. "Lizzie?" The man asked. "(Y/n)?" I gasped. I hadn't seen him in forever. We used to date in high school, he was my first love. My first everything. All of my firsts.

"How are you?" He asked. "I'm good, what have you been up to all these years?" I responded and asked a question of my own. "Went to college, got a business degree, now I own a sports bar. What have you been up to?" He answered. "Also went to college, became a famous actress. Got married, had a baby. Now I'm raising my daughter." I told him. I small a slight frown but only for a millisecond.

"You're married?" He asked with a small hint of disappointment. "Well, I was. He died a few years ago." I responded. "Oh, I'm really sorry. So do you want go out sometime on Saturday and catch up? It doesn't have to be a date or anything, especially if you're still grieving. I don't want to do anything your not comfortable with." He rambled. Maybe it's time to try again and move on. Maybe (Y/n) and I can give it another try. We only broke up because of college, it wasn't like we fought or anything. "That would be lovely. It's a date. I do need to get back out there. It's been four years since his passing, I would like for this to be a date. At least my first date again will be with someone I know and trust." I answered and gave him my number. He left to go finish his shopping and so did I.

A few days later we agreed to go out for dinner at one of our old favorite restaurants. I was putting on my dress while Lily was watching cartoons. My mom was watching her tonight. I have to put her to bed before I go so she'll hopefully be asleep the whole time.

I glanced at the wedding ring on my left hand and sighed. "I think it's time to give love another try. I'll always love you but it's time to move on." I whispered and kissed the ring before putting it in my jewelry box. I put Lily to bed and gave her a soft kiss on her forehead before saying goodbye to my mom and leaving. "I'll be back soon. Thank you for watching her." I told my mom and gave her a hug.

When I got to the restaurant (Y/n) was waiting outside for me. "You look really gorgeous!" He complimented. "You look very wonderful too." I smiled and gave him a hug.

The whole date went by very fast and before I knew it (Y/n) was dropping me off at home. And it was one in the morning. "I had a lot of fun tonight, thank you." I told (Y/n) as we walked up to my front porch. "I'm glad you said yes." He mumbled.

I was about to walk inside before he grabbed my wrist and kissed me. I was a bit surprised but I kissed him back and wrapped my arms around his neck. We continued to kiss for another ten minutes before finally separating.

"I forgot how great of a kisser you are." I whispered. "Why thank you. I will call you tomorrow." He smiled before letting me walk inside. I pressed a quick kiss onto his lips again and walked inside. Once the door was closed and he had left I leaned against the door and sat down. I'm definitely still in love with him. And now maybe it can work this time. For good.
