jimin continued to fluff up his hair in every store mirror he could find while he was practically running down the streets. its unlike him to be in a rush, or rushing to get somewhere, but with the boy from the train, he'd run miles for him.
jimin was a very shy person. he was like this with practically every person he met. of course, until he got more comfortable, but normally his relationships didn't last that long. the only two people who have seen that "not hidden" side of him were, of course, hoseok and namjoon.
so it was majorly out of his comfort zone sitting next to the boy. even more so starting a discussion with him. but, the boy seemed more shy than he was, if that even was possible. so, he knew he had to make the first move. and he's so grateful that he did.
they talked the whole train ride about their personal lives, such as where they grew up, went to school, how old they were, what they are doing now, and more. the boy seemed to be more interesting than jimin had originally thought. jimin found out that the boys name was jungkook. jeon jungkook, to be specific. he was 19 years old, freshly out of high school, not looking to go to college. he grew up in Busan, so did jimin, and they both moved to Seoul before they started high school so they could pursue their studies with better teachings. while jimin was still unsure of what he wanted, jungkook wanted to follow photography.
jimin found that cute.
he also found jungkook's hair cute. and his smile. his figure, too. and the way he got shy and slightly caved whenever jimin praised him. the way he'd bite his lip ring when he got nervous. he loved everything about jungkook just from that one encounter. even with jungkook only being two years younger, the older felt he needed to protect him. be his role model. and, well, hopefully more than that with time.
after about an hour and a half, the train was slowly arriving at jimin's stop. so, building up courage, jimin decided to ask the younger if he'd get some coffee with him that next morning. it wasn't like a date. well, not in a romantic way. he just wanted to know the latter better. surprisingly, jungkook agreed, slightly blushing after meeting the elder's gaze.
so, here he was, running down the streets, attempting to get there before jungkook does. but alas, when he arrived, the shy boy was already sitting at a table, patiently sketching. jimin froze, admiring the view for a while. his ripped skinny jeans paired with the oversized, grey t-shirt and his black boots that looked way to big for his feet. all this accompanied with a black mask, as there was still a pandemic raging, dangly earrings, and the classic fluffy hair.
something about the boy was making jimin go crazy and it just kept growing every time he saw him. its not love though. the older doesn't believe in love at first sight. maybe a small crush was developing, but nothing more than that. and it didn't need to be more than that. maybe jungkook had a significant other. jimin didn't even know his sexuality, and he wasn't about to go assuming. jimin and jungkook just needed to stay as friends.

jimin shook off his thoughts as he made his way to the table jungkook was sitting at. a small, two person table right by the window. the café was small, having around 8 tables, 4 occupying each side. the front of the café was littered with huge windows, having barely any wall space. it was decorated with light pink and pastel yellow colors, along with a variety of motivation quotes hanging on the wall in frames. it smelt of vanilla and tea, filling the atmosphere with a cozy feeling. jimin normally stopped by the shop to get coffee for him in hobi before they head to their studio to another podcast episode.
jimin and hoseok had been roommates and best friends for years, never really knowing what they wanted to do. they'd tried numerous 9-to-5 jobs to make enough money to pay rent, but never found any interest in any of them. it wasn't until one day hoseok jokingly brought up the idea of starting a podcast, to which jimin quickly to interest. they weren't sure on what topic, but they decided to discuss mental health issue since they've struggled too, and could actually give good advice. they didn't expect it to go anywhere, but it surprisingly reached amazing success, and they've been making some major money for drop-out college students.
so, everyday, they leave their shared apartment together, head to the studio, and either record or brainstorm ideas. its become routine. wake up, leave, coffee, record. after that, its normally around lunchtime. whenever they depart, hoseok normally goes off with friends or explores anything he can find (mainly new clothes shops that open up in town), whilst jimin heads to another studio. the dance studio, aka, his escape from reality.
jimin's parents had been decently loving growing up, but they were just making enough to raise him and his younger brother. neither of them could participate in sports, or extra events that required extra money. the boys were fine with that, until jimin took up an interest in dancing. he'd come home and dance for hours in the confinement of his small room, self-teaching himself. he wanted to take lessons, and his parents knew it'd be good for him too, but they simply didn't have enough money.
but even after being told that, he kept dancing. it was something that cleared his mind. he felt like he was floating every time he'd let his body go to the rhythm. with school becoming more difficult, he made a vow to himself to somehow pick dancing back up after high school. thankfully, with all the money he earned, he was able to purchase a small dance studio tucked away in the corner of town. he didn't have any plans of teaching kids or opening it up to the public for now. he just wanted it to be his little secret where he could go to rid the bad thoughts out of his mind and connect with the music, feeling happy with himself.

"good morning, jungkook." jimin greeted him with a smile.
"morning, hyung." he said, placing his pencil down as he gave a cheerful smile to the elder.
an awkward silence lingered over the two as they momentarily both stared into each others eyes, with no indication of ever leaving the others sight. jimin felt that familiar feeling rupture in his stomach. the butterflies started swarming as he stared at the youngers brown eyes. jungkook wasn't sure what he was feeling. he had never been in a relationship, never really developed a crush, especially with a boy. he was taught that one man loving another man was ugly, not accepted at all.
it wasn't any better when he was rumored to be gay at his school and would constantly get beat up because of it. he didn't know why. he didn't particularly understand what "gay" was, nor did he care as he was too pressured to be a top mark student by his parents. he didn't have time for sports or internet, to focused on making his parents proud.
but school wasn't going to distract him from the bruises and scratches from his bullies. teachers had seen it and done nothing about it. why? he didn't know. he'd talked to the principal. nothing. pleaded his parents for something, anything at this point, but nothing.
"here comes that fag, bet he's looking at your dick, better cover it."
"beware, you might catch his disease if you're anywhere near him."
"nobody would want you anyway, might as well just end it all." they shouted, recording him as he was bleeding into the sink with fresh cuts in his arm.
"no one would miss you anyways."
he didn't know why he'd been called gay in the first place. he'd never even dated a girl, but it was enough for him to start believing what they were saying. that gay was a disease, something you could catch. that it was wicked, a crime that could send you to jail. not being able to talk to anyone about it didn't help either. they practically ruined his social life, so he didn't have many friends. he would just shove off anyone who tried to become friends with him due to his trust issues. so he became friends with the something he could trust.
a blade.
he cant recall the first time he'd done it. there's too many littered on his arms and thighs to count. he hates himself now for it. he'd been clean since the day he left high school. getting a minimum wage job, along with his photography and blogs he started, he was making enough to survive on his own, and he was finally getting his shitty life back together. that's when he met jimin. or, he should say, the most beautiful person he'd ever seen.
jimin was sculpted like a greek god. every inch of him was beautiful. his blonde hair, doll like lips, thin waist, skinny belly with light abs, long legs, petite height, perfect ass. he had everything. but jungkook couldn't be attracted to him. because that's wrong. that's gay. and gay was wrong. jungkook was finally getting better, and his weird love interests was not going to fuck that up.
maybe.
