— Aetna was usually an easy one to wake up. She usually is the first person awake in the whole house. After last night, she didn't even have to wake up. She was awake the whole night thinking about who was going to be the next victim of the masked killer. The crazy mall rat who killed a bunch of people last night. Including Heather, a girl in Aetna's school. She has heard stories about crazy people going on killing sprees but this is the first one she has lived to experience. The last crazy murdering spree was back in '78. Her aunt was at camp when she got brutally murdered. She wasn't really liked anyway.
Aetna grabbed a shirt and some old jeans off her floor. She walked downstairs and sat down on the couch. " Good morning. " Both her mom and grandmother seemed startled. " Good morning pumpkin! Hungry? " Her mom was making biscuits but they didn't look that good if she was honest. Aetna just shook her head and said no. Even if she was hungry she felt to tired to actually eat.
Aetna grabbed her book bag, said goodbye, and got on her bike. She was grateful for everything she had but the one thing she would ask for if she had a genie was 100% a car. Riding a bike everywhere was the least fun exercise if you have to do it all the time.
As soon as she arrived to school she knew it would be a long day. Everyone was loud and talking about the killing of Heather. She thought it was stupid. Not one of these people cared what happened to her before she was killed. Not a single person is going to care in a week.
" Aetna! Babe come here! " Kate was captain of literally anything at this school and still hung out with Aetna. She didn't really know why other than the fact they were both cheerleaders.
" Want to blow off school this afternoon? " Kate asked. Dumb question with an even more dumb answer.

" All football players, cheerleaders, and band members are needed to go to the game tonight, " or something like that. Aetna wasn't really paying attention. She was too busy counting how many tiles people were stepping on. She was out of it until Kate dragged her.
" Come on, Simon and I are going back home!"
So the three of them ran out of school and hopped in Kate's car. They had out 5 hours until the had to be sad, happy, and every other emotion for a good hour or something. So there they go to talk about everything possible for the next couple of hours.

As the bud arrived at the football field in Sunnyvale Aetna had the feeling tonight was not going to be good. Kate, Simon, and Aetna went and stood in front of the stage where the mayor was talking. He was going on about how sorry he felt blah blah blah. Nobody there even cared, most of them were whispering about what they were going to do and who they were going to do this weekend. Some weren't even acting like they cared. I saw Deena, Kate and Simon's friend run out of the group.
One of these nasty football players in Sunnyvale said something about the killings. Aetna didn't recognize the boy who replied but she thought he was pretty good looking. ( No Idea Who That Man Was But ZooWeeMama ) Aetna began to worry when both boys came close in contact. She really didn't want to see someone get hurt. Obviously, someone threw a punch and a huge fight started. Aetna tried to stay out of the way and find her friends. Instead some girl was pushed into her. " Holy- "
