-five years later-
Armin's POV
I was walking down a street, and that's when I saw her. Annie Leonhart. She was walking with someone else, her new husband maybe. They looked really happy. I decided I would go up and talk to her. I sped up my walk, but she just kept getting farther and farther away. Then I fell and it went black. I heard everyone's voices. My friends. They never forgave me for Annie and what happened.
"I regret being there for you" Mikasa said
"You have changed too much." Eren said
"I hope you're happy with yourself" Jean said
"I never should have met you" Sasha said
"I don't regret anything. I still love you, but I can't forgive you. I'm sorry" Annie said
I started to cry, but no one was there for me. I was alone. No one cared about me anymore
Then I woke up, tears streaming down my face. I've been having the same nightmare for about five years now. I was ready to give up. I was ready to give up on everything, but one thing kept me going the entire time. Her. Annie. I knew she still loved me, I just had to find her. I know that there was something I could do. So I got up and went for my morning walk along the countryside.
Annie's POV
I woke up to two sets of little hands poking my face. I opened my eyes and saw my two beautiful children. Charlotte was my little girl. She had my light blonde hair, but Armin's soft ocean blue eyes. Carter was my little boy. And he looked exactly like his father, except his eyes were green. Both of them were full of curiosity and adventure, just like their father. I missed him, but I knew I could never let him know that he had two children. I still remember the last time I saw him. I dream about it every night. I got up and went to make some eggs for my little adventurers, when I saw him. He walked right passed our house, but it looked like he glanced inside. I called Mikasa and asked if I could drop the kids off next door to play with her and eren's son, Ryan. She said yes so I left them there and then started running to him.
"What are you doing here?" I asked as i caught up with him. Armin Arlert.
"A-Annie." He said, a little stunned with tears rolling down his cheeks
"I came to ask why you are looking into my house window at 8:30 in the moring, or at all" I stated firmly
"I just found out where you live a few weeks ago, and I just glanced in because I miss you. But I never said anything because it looks like you moved on." He said, looking like he was on the verge of crying.
"Why would you say that? Because I have kids?" I asked
"Well, yeah. You never told me and it looks like they around three." He said
"They're four. And you want to know the worst part? They are your kids!" I said, suddenly feeling tears roll down my cheeks
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked
"I was going to tell you, but then I walked into you making out with a girl in our bed. I was going to surprise you." I said in barley a whisper
"Annie. I can explain that. But first, I want to meet my kids. I want to know them and I want to earn your trust again before I tell you. I still love you and I want to be with you again. But I want to meet my children first" he stated firmly, acting more like the man I know and love
"Okay. I'll let you meet them, but if they don't want you as part of their lives, then you leave our lives forever." I said
"Thank you Annie." He said, with his beautiful smile
And then we were off to walk over to Mikasa's house for Armin to meet our kids.
