Chapter Eight: Slumber Party

Lux:

I packed my duffel bag slowly, not at all anticipating the outcome. Tonight was the dreaded sleepover and I just 'have' to attend. I wrapped my hair up in a messy bun and grabbed my bag, heading towards the door. My mom was passed out on the sofa, drool slipping out of her mouth. I couldn't help but laugh at the sight, and of course take a picture to remember it. She woke up lightly shifting her body and her eyes.

"What, what just happened?" She yawned. I shrugged and turned back towards the door trying not to laugh.

"Whatever, just be here at around twelve, we're having the first sonogram test and I want my favorite girl to be there. I nodded quickly to hear trying to contain my tears. I escaped the house quick enough to skip the interrogation. The tears finally spilled out of my eyes just as I sat in the seat. Why in the world would I want to go see a blob that would soon be an annoying nuisance on my sleeping hours? And why the heck do I sound so melodramatic? I hate melodrama.

"God, I really must be going crazy." I whispered to myself. I just have to shack it off and relax. I need to have enough focus for what I'm about to do. I started the engine and sped down the road wanting to get in and out as fast as possible.

When I finally arrived to Natalie's house, I have to say that I was definitely starstruck. Natalie's house huge. No, not even huge, ginormous. It looked to be a Victorian mansion with a large wraparound porch, multiple windows, and was at least four times taller than all the houses in this neighborhood. I walked down to the door trying to rid myself of all of my nerves. I knocked hard on the door and awaited anyone to answer the door...

Carson:

I brushed my smooth blonde hair in the mirror trying to look my best for my annual sleepover party. Sadly, this year it wasn't at my house because of that stupid new girl, Lux. I don't know if I could have dealt with her in my house, in my space. I still don't get how she found her way to my group of friends. It was like one minute we were pranking her, then the next she was at my lunch table trying to act cozy with my friends. And I refuse to stand for it!

I got out my curling iron and began to put big loose curls in my hair. I wanted to at least look prettier than she did when it came to this party. She probably thought it was a normal sleepover where we just wear our cutest pyjamas and prance around painting each others nails and pillow fighting. Well, it isn't like that, not this year at least. I want this red haired bitch out of my town and fast.

I grabbed my red midriff pyjama top and matching white pyjama bottoms. I raced out the door before my dad could give me a questionable look. He wasn't very fond of me when I dressed 'sexy'. I guess I have to look presentable since I'm the mayor's one and only daughter. And yet my brother, Ian, has the divine pleasure of screwing anything that breathes. That is one of the reasons why I'm an aunt of two at only seventeen.

I sighed and made my way over to Natalie's house. I walked up to her massive porch only to find that damn red head standing at the door. I rolled my eyes and slowly hiked up the stairs. Her red locks were fanned and blown out. She had on a baby doll tank with some short-shorts and some slippers.

"Ready for the party?" I asked her suddenly. She jumped a bit and looked quizzically.

"How long have you been standing there?" She said in her Texas drawl.

"Not for too long--" The door swung open and out came Natalie ushering us into the party. The rest of the girls sat in the living room either on their phones or watching television. They all looked up when I walked in the room vying for my attention.

"Well, sorry for the late arrival, I had to grab our special party favor." They all giggled and watched closely as I pulled out the bottle of rum that I snuck out of the house."

"Tonight, we're gonna play my special version of truth or dare." They all looked around confused trying to figure out what I meant.

"For every time you fail a dare you have to take a swig of the rum. And for every time you are unable to answer a truth you have to take two swigs. Got it?" They all nodded mechanically except for Lux who just stared into the distance. Everyone grouped up in a circle in the middle of the living room. I turned around to still see Lux zoning out.

"Come on," I grabbed her to the circle, ignoring the tingling on my skin. I sat next to her and sat the bottle next to me.

"Truth or dare?" One of the girls, Pamela, bursted out to me.

"Truth," I said slowly.

"Is it true that you really slept with Erin Goddard?" I smiled coyly and popped open the bottle taking a long swig.

"No comment." I giggled. They all looked at me and laughed. The party went back and forth like that for another hour or so. By the time I was called on (again) I was stupid drunk barely able to understand the question. I guess some spiteful bitch dared me to kiss Lux. Out of the all people in the room to kiss,it just had to be her. I turned towards her slowly just wanting to get it over with , but I felt a twinge of excitement. I leaned in almost half way there when she pops down grabs the bottle of rum and chugs it. I stared in awe at her, even when she ran away to the bathroom.

"Don't worry guys, I'll get her." I slurred. I hobbled out of there and went to find Lux. She was hiding out in the bathroom sitting placidly on the toilet.

"If your really trying to hide, you should try locking the door." She looked up at me then quickly looked away.

"Aww, come on we're just having fun. Haven't you ruined my party enough?" I whispered the last part.

"Oh please, you and your friends are so wasted you can barely speak. Isn't that all the fun you need?" I rolled my eyes and closed the door. I sat next to her and looked up at her she frowned next to me but I couldn't help but laugh.

"So, are we ever going to have that kiss?" I crawled up to her slowly. I honestly don't know what the hell I'm doing, but I kinda want to find out.

"Look, your drunk, you don't even know what you're saying..." She faltered a bit on the edge as I moved closer. I was nose-nose with feeling her breath on my lips.

"Tell me to stop if you don't want me to." I waited a second but dived in crushing our lips against one another's. We melted into one another, not knowing which way was up. She moaned slightly in mouth as I ran my fingers through her hair. Soon we were on the floor in a full fledged make-out session. I roamed my hands over her back, bringing her closer to me.

I broke the kiss moving down to her neck placing light butterfly kisses, I think I might have even given her a hickey.

"I thought...you said... you...didn't want...to kiss me." I chuckled in between kisses.

"Just shut-up and kiss me." And she brought my face back to hers joining our lips together once again. I can't even remember how long we stayed there. I just know I didn't want to get up.

"Hey, is everything okay in there?" One of the girls yelled. That damn girl ruining the most fun I've had in a while.

"I really enjoyed--" I couldn't even let her finish. I brushed past into the living finishing off the entire bottle of rum. Hopefully I'll be drunk enough to forget all this shit happened.
