I woke up with a start and immediately went to my drawers, pulling out paper and the wax seal. I was going to arrange a meet up with Gale, I had so much to tell her and I feared that if I didn't do it now, I would forget everything, it was all going through my mind at one hundred miles a minute. I looked out the window just in time to see Helvar fly through, I let out a breath, relieved that he was back and seemingly unharmed. I gave him a pet and went back to my letter.

Once I was done, I went downstairs and handed it to the Fedgeling that was already on his way out the door, I thanked him and then dashed up to my room so I could get ready, I took some crystals with me, I was going to use them to cast a sound barrier around us, I didn't want someone else to hear what had happened, I might get reported and interrogated. When I turned around to leave, my mother was leaning against the doorframe, I jumped, clearly startled, dropping some of the stuff I was holding, the crystals rolled to her feet and she looked at me with suspicion.

"Where are you going in such a hurry? you haven't got school for the following week and even then, I've never seen you get up so fast and ready to go."

I hastily picked up all the crystals and the rest of the contents of the bag that had fallen out, there was some apple loaf and a few dead mice. I was planning to take Helvar with me since he hadn't been out for a stretch in a while.

"I was just going to see Gale, I wanted to get up early so I could spend most of the night with her, opportunities like this don't just come and go. No school for a week is like a blessing." I explained in a rush, still running around my room and throwing things that seemed of importance into my bag.

"Right... What's with all the crystals then? I'm sure you wouldn't need all of them unless you're planning to do something mischievous."

I had to fight to keep a straight face while looking her in the eye, I couldn't lie outright, I gave her half the truth.

"I like to talk to Gale about important stuff, things that I find embarrassing if someone else was to overhear me, so I want to use the crystals to make a small sound barrier." I said with a small smile, trying my best to keep my composure. She gave me an assessing look before shrugging and walking further into my room. I panicked when I thought my dress wasn't in the closet so I whipped around and scanned the area, making sure that she couldn't find or see it unless she looked for it. She ran her hand over the moss covered walls, admiring the way they moved, she didn't make a comment about the illusions, maybe it was only Gale and I, Krais didn't mention anything either, thank the Saints honestly because if she saw Crucians wings, she would question me, I don't know if she has ever seen Prince Crucian but I was glad that I wouldn't have to find out.

"Right well, I hope you have fun, are you leaving right now? And when will you be back?" She asked, and I smiled at her.

"Yeah, I am leaving, I will be back before the night is over, I promise."

She gave me one last, long look before coming close, pinching my cheek in the way that a mother does and sending me blessings for a safe journey, I had arranged for Gale to meet me where I found the stag, where Crucian had kissed me senseless, I described the location in detail, giving her the description from my old house. When I got there, she was already snuggled up under the tree, almost exactly where I was when I found the Stag. When she saw me, her face lit up, I will never get sick of the fact that she's always so happy to see me.

"Hey Bramble! You said you had something urgent to talk about?" She asked, running over to me and enveloping me in a hug. I nodded my head eagerly and motioned for her to go back up to the tree. I held up the crystals in my hand and muttered spells and enchantments under my breath, the area around Gale and I lit up as the crystals changed colours. When I was done, I hurriedly made my way to Gale, the sound barrier only took effect after 30 seconds of casting the spell, I had drawn it around Gale, 10 feet outwards in each direction. Anyone who wasn't within that 10 feet distance after the spell has been casted won't be able to hear our conversation, even if they come within distance afterwards. Gale looked at me with a confused expression so I sat down and calmed myself before starting my rant. Helvar stirred slightly before settling into my lap.
