"Please! Someone! I need he-," a young woman screamed, pounding her high-heeled shoes on the pavement in an attempt to escape a masked figure in the distance. At least, that was until she twisted her ankle and collapsed to the ground with a loud thud and a yelp of pain leaving her lips.

Her pleas continued to fall on deaf ears, the passersby sauntering off without so much as one gaze of acknowledgment or call for help. Attempting to move only resulted in a gasp of agony as searing aches shot up her leg.

She screamed. Even though she had already tried this and failed. Her eyes flitted back and forth, from left to right trying to find her attempted assailant. She screamed until she was almost sure her throat was bleeding, and even then she kept going.

"I need a hero! Please! I need help!"

The last sentence came out more as a raspy whimper than a scream as the woman bowed her head and grabbed her ankle which was already swelling. Her cheeks were soaked with tears which dripped onto her thighs.

"It's no use! Scream all you like! Thanks to my quirk, there's not a single hero around who can hear you!"

A malevolent voice came from the rooftops in front of where the woman was sitting. Her head shot up in such a quick motion, she caused her neck to pop in protest. There he was. Even in the dark alleyway she could make out the glint of a white cat mask,

He had jumped off the rooftop into the tight alleyway, making his way towards her with a katana in his grasp, glinting even in the darkness. He drew his weapon back, closing in on his terrified victim.

The only sound coming from the woman was a raspy sound that was more akin to a squeak than an actual scream. She squeezed her eyes shut, hoping whatever horrible fate was awaiting her would be quick and painless. Her eyes shot back open not even a second later when she felt a whoosh of air hit her face accompanied by the sound of a harsh impact.

Her jaw went slack at the sight in front of her. A caped individual adorning a mask with inverted diamond shaped eyes and no mouth had leaped in front of the woman, and drop-kicked the man out of the sky. A crack resounded through the small space, and the woman was satisfied with the thought of her harasser's ribs breaking from the painful sounding attack.

A shout of pure agony erupted from the masked man during his ungraceful fall onto the concrete which ended in yet another sound of discomfort from him. The two heard the ground crack under the weight of his crash, and the woman couldn't help but smirk at the suffering of her tormentor.

Her silent celebration came to an abrupt end. The man wasn't done. He bounced into the air yet again, and the caped hero pulled out a short metal item they then extended into a staff. He growled and barked obscenities at the hero who had interrupted his hunt.

The clanging sound of two metal objects hitting each other echoed in the alleyway. Her hero blocked the assassin's advances again and again, but never once did they dodge or evade the swordsman's onslaught. The person's movements were akin to a cat's, vtoo agile to give the opponent the slightest opening.

It was obvious she was getting in the way of the hero's work, but with her leg in the shape it was currently in, there was no way she could make a run for it. She could try crawling, but her body was so tired from all the adrenaline and the screaming, she feared she wouldn't make it. She had to try. She couldn't just sit there while there was a crazed killer after her.

    "Can you walk?"

An electronic voice rang out, but the woman was so distracted with trying to find an escape she didn't hear the question aimed at her. She gazed at the masked hero, not sure how to answer. Well, the hero was putting their life on the line for her, so she supposed the least she could do was be truthful.
