Side Note: This is my first go at a Young Justice fanfiction. I've been living in the shadows over the fandom and haven't really tried to be to into it but I've had this idea for some time and wanted to give it a go. The show is released a little later in my country so I haven't had the chance to start on season 4 and need to wait awhile before I can watch it. But since this is an Zombie Au, don't expect any real spoliers or anything like that.

Side Note 2: I'm not a huge DC geek either. I enjoy Dc films but I'm not overly crazy on them. I haven't watched every DC film or series, live action or animation. I know enough of the basics and most of the charaters. I just .. don't expect me to know every detail or get everything perfectly correct either.

Dick wasn't sure what to think when the "sickness" had first appeared on the news. Or in truth, he heard about it from work before he ever saw it on the news. He was a detective, the youngest detective ever made in Gotham. He was just twenty one years old. He completely his police academy training and passed with flying colours. Spent a full year as a mere cop in Gotham and gained his promotion as a detective. He was proud, his family was proud and Bruce was proud, it made Dick feel as if he had reached his full happiness in life.

But than, a single day later, he noticed some strange warning being mentioned in one of the morning meetings. Some small city somewhere in another country was hit with a pandemic. Some suddenly sickness, virus, had earned some to turn rather violent, just like a tumour on the brain can do some people. All that was said that the virus could spread by coming in close contract with an already infected person. Nothing more was said or done over it. It was a background warning for them all to know about in case they come in contact with any refugees but that was near impossible, no one would chose to purposely come to Gotham.

And so another year passed and than suddenly it was on the news. A virus that had quickly spread to half the countries already and every single air port was on lock down. Countries weren't letting refugees in and all channels were closed.

Gotham didn't think much over it, they were normally safe from any real pandemic's since no outsiders came to their little city. It's dangerous and deadly reputation kept most away and the crime rate kept everyone else away for good. Not many who weren't born in Gotham survives a visit, they're normally left found dead in an alleyway and sent home in a body bag or just a shared public cremation for those not collected.

But another month passed and the virus had almost took over the whole world and the infection numbers were growing. Social media was blowing up by survivors stuck trapped in their own homes and showing videos over what they were facing. At first most laughed and accused it all over being fake. But it was very real and soon everyone was overwhelmed by it all.

Dick hated how things couldn't have just stayed whelmed, he'd prefer being whelmed than facing the dead that just didn't stay dead.

Being a detective, he was called to the front lines of Gotham as the virus had finally reached them. All police force held their guns in hands, baton's left forgotten as they aimed for the head and shot.
