Chapter 23: Point of Views

In a blink of an eye, Hidan charged at Itachi, shoving him against the wall. His hand was gripped on the Uchiha's collar, pulling him up. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Hidan gritted and his eyes were furious. Itachi just stared back at him, with his usual straight face. Minah intervened by gripping Hidan's arm and tried to pull it down but Hidan was just too strong, "H-Hidan, sto-" "Shut up. You'll have your fucking turn later." Hidan cutting Minah off, without even throwing a gaze at her. "I don't like to fucking repeat myself, so spit it out bastard." Hidan tightened his grip as he pushed Itachi even higher. Minah's swollen eyes started to well in tears again while Kakuzu watched the two exchanged death glares at each other. He was ready to interfere if the situation came out of hand.

"People are bound to what they think they see." Itachi started to talk with his monotone voice. "They tend to judge and accept it as reality, without even looking even further." the Uchiha continued with his logical reasoning, making Hidan even more annoyed. "How 'bout we fucking try something different? I'm never the type to read between the fucking lines anyway." Hidan muttered, smirking; he slowly lifted his other hand and grabbed on his scythe, "I'll just fucking murder you right now." he said with his dead serious tone then immediately drew his scythe and hit Itachi with it, aiming for his neck.

Blood splattered to Hidan's face, but it wasn't Itachi's. Soon, his evil grin faded and his eyes widened as he clearly saw whose blood was it. "Y-You..." he muttered in disbelief.

A few hours back, before Hidan and Kakuzu returned to the base, Minah woke up with the most terrible feeling ever. She felt really light-headed and had no idea why; her stomach was grumbling, yet she didn't want to eat anything. 'Ugh...Why am I like this lately?' in her thoughts as she sat up, grabbing anything she could take hold of just to keep her balance. As she dropped her feet to the floor, she suddenly felt acid started to build up in her throat. She quickly jumped out of the bed, didn't care whether she'd trip or not , and ran off to the bathroom. She felt like her insides trembled as she threw up everything she ate last night. After emptying her stomach, she felt a little relief and cleaned her mess. She washed her face and sat at the edge of the tub across the bathroom. She stayed there for a while and tried to pull herself together. Minah finally got a little idea of what she was currently experiencing though it wasn't really something she could easily accept. She stared at the floor blankly before deciding to see someone.

She paced towards the door next to her room and knocked. She thumped several times before twisting the door knob and peeked. Her eyes wandered and found no one, "Kyuu-san?" she called, trying to see if her partner would come out of the bathroom. Still, there was no one, and she couldn't sense his chakra anywhere near, 'Maybe he went out.' in her thoughts. She went back to her room and prepared to leave. She planned to visit the nearest village since this matter was urgent; and it would be better if no one knew about it. Not just yet.

She passed by the kitchen to drink cold water and saw Itachi at the counter, drinking coffee. She smiled and greeted him casually then left immediately.

Itachi took the last sip from his cup and reached for his pocket to get the piece of paper given by Kisame. He stared at it for a while, reading what was written then put back to his pocket. He washed the cup and saucer clean before leaving the base and headed to the nearest village. It was his turn to buy their grocery for the week.

He arrived to the village without any interruptions and walked his way to the grocery store. He was about to enter the shop when he saw someone familiar across the street, standing in front of a building. 'Minah?' in his thought. He watched her as she paced back and forth in front of a somewhat a medical facility, as if she was undecided whether to enter or not. His curiousity drew him closer to her without Minah knowing. He hid himself behind the wall and watched Minah as she finally decided to enter the building. (Wait. Is he stalking Minah?!)
