"Your driving today boot" Bradford says as I'm setting up the shop
"Yes sir" I say rolling my eyes. I set everything up then get in the drivers seat.
"Today we are going to be babysitting a crime scene."
"Oh fun" I say starting the car. I open the garage and start driving. Bradford puts the address into the tracker and I follow it.
"I know, it's what every patrol officer complains about but it's apart of the job unfortunately" He says sighing. We arrive on the scene and get out of the shop.
"7 Adam 19 arriving on the scene now occupied" I say into the radio
"Ready?" Bradford asks. I nod and we head up to the officer from midnight shift. He gives us the run down on what we're supposed to do and he leaves.
"Guarding evidence.. fun"
"Do you have a problem Officer Chen?"
"No sir."
"Control 7 Adam 7 reporting to a robbery on (street name)." we ignore the radio and continue securing the scene.
||5 hours later||
"Boot let's go next shift is here." I nod and we go back to the shop to continue our patrol
"I'm driving" He says.
"Ok" I say getting in the passenger seat. We start driving and head to our normal patrol spot. We sit there and I look through the traffic.
"You ready to start working midnight shift soon?"
"What?"
"Every rookie has to go through midnight shift within their first few months on the job" he says
"Midnight.."
"Yup so you're gonna have to learn to sleep during the day. Starting tomorrow."
"Lord"
"Lunch?"
"Yup" I say and he starts driving to the food trucks.
~Tim Bradford~
I sit down with the other TO's and start eating. Chen goes and sits down with the other rookies.
"You excited for the midnight shift Bradford?" Lopez says
"Very funny" I say
"Your boot doesn't seem to think it's funny" Bishop says
"I know. She won't survive a day let alone a week" I say
"She'll be fine. She has a chance to prove herself in a male dominated field and I expect her to take it" Bishop says
"Yeah it's all she can to show she can do it." Lopez adds
"Whatever. Boot let's go!" I yell. She gets up and we head to the shop.
"5 more hours" Chen says
"Nope shifts over. Be back to the station tomorrow at 11pm"
"What?"

"Midnight shift tomorrow and it's already late. Go home and get some sleep."
