A mini comfort chapter, basically Monoma being a good boyfriend.

This is an AU where Monoma and Shinsou are Pro-Heroes.

The harsh news continued as Monoma sighed. He waited for his husband,  Shinsou to get home. After a moment went by, he harshly grabbed the remote to the TV and turned off the news. It was all too harsh to hear. His eyes constantly wondered towards the door, waiting to see the doorknob open and swing up to reveal Shinsou. It didn't. "Come on. Come on.." Monoma muttered out, he was getting inpatient with worry for his husband. It has been a long and uneasy day afterall.

Finally, after what seemed like hours, Monoma heard heavy footsteps approaching the door to his house that he shared with his husband. As the doorknob turned, Monoma sprung up and ran towards the door. The door opened, revealing Monoma's husband, Shinsou. Without giving Shinsou time to say anything or fully step inside, Monoma jumped into his arms.

"Oh shi- Neito." Shinsou muttered, his voice sounded drained out and dead. Monoma nuzzled his face into Shinsou's shoulder. "What took you so long to get home? You were supposed to be back an hour ago like you told me" Monoma asked, still clinging onto his husband tightly. A moment of silence went by, Shinsou stepped inside, holding onto Monoma's waist. He closed the door behind them.

"Monoma." Shinsou muttered out, his voice began to break. Monoma perked his head up, looking at Shinsou. Tears started to run down Shinsou's cheeks rapidly as he pulled away from the blonde. "It's my fucking fault. I could've done something yet.." Shinsou couldn't get anymore words out. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Neito." As Shinsou spoke, Monoma's expression dropped hearing his husband cry and apologize. He gently took the crying male's cold hands and held onto them tightly. Monoma pulled Shinsou closer to him.

Feeling the warm embrace, Shinsou once again pulled away quickly. He looked at Monoma, tears streaming down his cheeks and falling down quickly. A rush of confusion and anger now tainted his face. "Aren't you mad at me Monoma? Why aren't you mad? If I didn't fuck up back there then those children would have been at home, safe! You would have been smiling and talking about our victory! Yet here we are!" Shinsou yelled, he didn't make much sense as his emotions got to him. Monoma stayed quiet, looking back at Shinsou with an soft expression. "Why.. can't you just yell at me? Be mad." Shinsou questioned, his hands shaking.

"Because you're a hero, Hitoshi." Monoma said. "You did what you had to do, you're efforts are the reason why we're still here." He continued, reaching his hand out towards Shinsou. "That fight was brutal.. don't you remember? Even, there could have been two outcomes, either both the kids and us dying or just the kids." Monoma gently took Shinsou's hands. "But you, you saved all of us. Because of the fact that you stopped, the kids are still alive, it's even been confirmed. You saved us both and the kids, Hitoshi" Monoma smiled at him.

"You're truly a hero."

Shinsou looked stunned, he began crying again as he pulled Monoma closer to him. Shinsou cried into Monoma's shoulder, Monoma rubbing his back. "The others will work on finding the location of the villain and the children, we will stay back for now." Monoma said as he then slowly cupped Shinsou's cheeks. "Until then, please don't be so hard on yourself" He muttered as he wiped Shinsou's tears. Monoma pulled him into a hug again.

"Neito, thank you." Shinsou said quietly. "I'm thankful you're mine, next time, we'll get the villain." He said, Monoma nodded. The two got up, hand in hand and walked to their room.
