Koi 10! "Childhood friend"

I woke up early, as usual, to get ready for school. I fixed my bed, took a bath, wore my uniform, took breakfast, bid goodbye to my family, then barged out of the house.
Nothing's new anyway.

While I am walking, I still thought about the dream. It can't get out of my head though. How can I concentrate for the quiz later in English? Ugh! Curse that Yukidaruma!

"Good morning Honoka-san." I was startled by someone who just called me. I looked at him and it's the guy with the bike. Ahhh!

"You're scary!" He looked so shocked then laughed.

"Why? Hahaha!"

"Because you suddenly appear in front of me!"

"Pfft. Is that so?"

"Yes! And how on earth did you knew my name?! I don't even know you."

He suddenly looked serious.

"Seriously, Honoka-san, you don't remember me?". I just shrugged. But he really is familiar with me.

"It's me, Horii Arata. Your childhood friend from before."

Horii Arata? I don't know him. I don't remember a guy with a name of Horii Ara--eehh!!!!

"Horii Arata?! Are you Tori?!"

But the guy just laughed at me so hard. Why is he laughing?! I am trying to remember him! And then he's just gonna laugh at me?!

"Hey! Why are you laughing huh?! Is there something funny?!"

"Pfft. Nothing. Hahahaha!"

"And why are you laughing then?". Then I crossed my arms.

"Because you remembered what you called me before."

"Oh. S-so I do know you? Huh?"

"Yeah. Remember me Miki-san?"

And then he reached my hand to me. Something flash backed in my mind. It was a memory from my childhood. I guess I was 6 years old that time.

*furasshu bakku!*

"Alright kids! We're already here at SeaSide park. Please have a partner. And make sure to be near the teachers. Okay?"

"Hai sensei!", the kids said in chorus. Including me. Argh! Partner? Have a partner? I don't want to have a partner! I want to explore SeaSide Park all by myself. But if that's what the teacher said, I should follow it.

"Jinko you should be my partner!"

"Kotaro be with me!"

"I should probably be alone."

"Sakura-chan!!"

Those are some of the noise I understand here in the bus. Why does it have to be so noisy when picking a partner?! You can just poke your seat mate and say 'Please be my partner'. Not 'Hey! Be my partner!'. I hate noise. Really. It bugs me so much!

Later on, the teacher told us that we can already get out of the bus. My noisy classmates followed and excitedly went out. Ugh! I feel like I'm in a stampede. There is little space, and I hear so much noise!

As soon as I got out, I distanced from the others and breathed heavily. Don't they know that I'm asthmatic? They could get me killed!

"Hey!"

I heard a voice of a boy behind me. I turned to look around and saw someone. He is also my classmate but I didn't bother remembering his name. I don't care anyway.

"What?" I said while my arms are crossed.

"Be my partner!"

"No! I don't want to! Bleh!" Then I stuck my tongue out to him.

"C'mon! If you don't want me to report you for not following rules, then be my partner."

"And why would you do that?"

"Because you are just gonna follow what I said. It's not hard in saying yes right?"

"Are we close?"

"Do we need to be close to be partners?"

"So I know if I could trust you. Anyway, what's your name?"

"Horii Arata. You?"

"Honoka Miki."

"Ah. Hajimemashite Honoka-san." Then he reached my hand to me and then grinned so widely.

"Hajimemashite." I said. I reached for his hand and then we shook hands. After that, we started exploring SeaSide Park. But after awhile, we got tired so we sat down at a bench where you can see the beach.

"Kirei." I muttered. That means beautiful by the way.
I looked at Horii Arata again. He is now playing with his fingers.

"Hey!" I said. He looked at me.

"What?"

"If your name is Horii, can I call you Tori?"

"Tori? The meaning of that is bird right? Then why would you call me Tori?"

"Because your name sounds like it. Horii. Tori. Am I right?"

"Okay. If that's what you want."

"Yey! I have a friend named Tori!"

"Hey don't shout it! It's embarrassing!"

*furasshu bakku no owari!*

Ah. I do remember him now.

"I remember you already." I said.

"Really?" He said with a wide grin.

"Yeah. But don't be too overwhelmed. Anyway, I need to go now. I still have classes. And I'll be late for school. So bye Tori!" And then I waved at him and started to walk away.

"See ya Honoka-san!"

That's what I heard he said before I got far.
