Han Jisung's POV

I thought that day our story would end at that bus stop, little did I know it was our awaited start.

We got to know each other, our stories and environment. After tons of asking, and some begging (just kidding haha), we finally made our relationship official.

Even if it took a long time, we even opened up to our own insecurities and struggles. We weren't perfect, we had fights; yet we broke through barriers and did our best to stay together.

Today, she and I went on a trip. We climbed up a big grassy mountain, fields surrounded us.

It took us weeks to postpone the plan of this picnic because of our tight schedules but we made it. I beat the blanket in the air and the placed it on the grass. The food she prepared was then arranged beautifully. The sunset in front of us, it was slightly windy but the warmth of her hand comforted me.

I felt her lean on my shoulder and when I glanced she had her eyes closed. I didn't think I would ever be this close to her, I didn't think I would ever break her walls of defense. Her hair now had grown out from the short hair she had on our first meeting, my feelings remained the same.

I am still head over heels for her.

My hand lifted hers towards my lips as I planted a kiss on it. She grinned at me and spoke.

"I love you."

The intent in her eyes as she said those three words, but a stake pierced through my heart when I realized something. I had to ask.

"Then why did you leave me?"

She started becoming blurry and distant, yet she held out her hands for me to reach.

I opened my eyes to be welcomed by the morning rays peaking through my window. I sat on my bed, full of regret and asking why I was stupid enough to get fooled by my dream again. Until when will I wake up knowing it's not real?

We broke up months ago.

She was my story, and she closed the book we were writing together. The main character in the movie of my life said goodbye.

I'd be lying if I said I already moved on, or if I'm still trying to. Even now it hurts, until now I still can't get over her.

Grabbing my phone from my nightstand, I scrolled through the texts coming in.

"Happy Birthday to me, I guess."

My friends are throwing me a small party later. I didn't even want to, but then I figured it can be a valid excuse to see her.

Scrolling through the names in my contacts, I looked at our conversation. No new messages.

Will I see her later? Will she even come?

I don't wanna look miserable, so I tried to take care of myself that day. I ate on time, went to the gym, then took a shower and all that.

I was looking for my black sweatshirt when I passed through one of my hoodies that my ex loved wearing, that was her favorite thing to wear in my apartment. I held it to my chest, it still had a faint scent of her, so close and yet it was drifting away.

When night time fell, people started coming in. I talked to most of the visitors, some I didn't even know who. I still couldn't find her anywhere.

That was then that I saw someone familiar, like the back of my hand and just like in my dreams.

She still lights up the room she enters.
