This guy actually requested a haunted house story... but I've never been to one.. So I don't know the experience This may be a bit awkward, and will admit, not the best work I've ever done... but hope ya'll enjoy it anyways. Valora out~
Reader's POV:
It's a beautiful and sunny day, so me and my girlfriend, Dorothea, decided to go to a nearby carnival for a date. It was going really well, we went on a few rides, got ourselves a snack, then play the minigame challenges. It was all very fun, until something caught my girlfriend's eyes.
"Y/n! There's a haunted house there! Wanna go check it out?" Dorothea said excitedly. "I don't think that's a good idea, Thea. It's kinda spooky there." I replied worriedly. Honestly, I never really liked haunted houses... Well, I don't like anything horror related. Not that I'm scared. I'm good when it comes to holding down my surprise. It just gives me weird chills down my spine, and when they jump scare gives me shivers like being poked by a thousand needles.
"Oh, don't be such a worrywart, Y/n! It'll be fine. Besides, there's always emergency exits if we're afraid!" Dorothea reassured me. I can't do anything but give in. "Alright, fine. We can go. But if you get chills after this, it will be on you. I won't be there to wake up early in the morning just for snuggles, ok?" I warned her. "Fine, fine. I'm sure it's like seeing a scary opera anyways." She said, then she led me to the haunted house.
Well, what can I say? I was right.
The haunted house was an amazing one. Every single twist and turns, it gives off creepy vibes. Oh, did I mention that it's also a labyrinth? Yea, it's going to be hard getting out of here.
"I-I didn't expect to be this scary." Dorothea mumbled. I bet she didn't want me to hear it, but I heard it loud and clear. I can tell she's scared, since she's latching onto my hand quite tightly. Neither of us are masters in a labyrinth, so yea, this is really going to take a while.
It had already been a few minutes. How long exactly? I don't know. They told us to shut down our phones to get a better spooky experience. And of course, it worked. Dorothea, who had been eager to come in, was ironically the one who jumps whenever a scary prop was seen. Gladly, there were no jump scares yet, so we were more or less fine for now.
Right, left, left, right, left. We went from path to path, just to see where the one we chose leads. Whenever there's a dead end, there are always spooky props laying down. That makes Dorothea jumps. I, on the other hand, just felt more chills down my spine.
"Where is that exit?" Dorothea asked worriedly. "It's ok, Thea. We'll get out of here soon." I tried to reassured her. But then, we reached a dead end. "Maybe we should've go-" I tried to say, but then was cut off as a skeleton came down from the ceiling. "Gaah!" Dorothea screamed, as she hides behind me. I just stood there, seemingly unfazed. But in truth, I was also shocked, as it left chills down my spine. "I'm starting to regret this..." Dorothea whispered behind my back. "See? What did I tell ya?" I said, turning my head to give her a knowing look. "Yeah, yeah. You win this time. Now please get us out of here..." She said quietly. "Well... that's easier said than done, Thea. We don't even know where we are." I said. But then we heard something from behind us. We both look at each other then agreed to slowly look what's behind us. Whe we turned around...
"GAAAHHHH!"
"GAAAAAHHHH!"
We screamed. We were shocked to see something behind us... but wait... someone else screemed with us.
I looked up to see Edelgard and Hubert with her. "Eddie! Hubbie!" Dorothea called out to her friends with a hug. "What are you two doing here?" I asked. "Edelgard wanted to go through the haunted house. I'm simply accompanying her. Though this is more like a haunted maze than a haunted house." Hubert said in his usual monotone voice. "What are you doing here, Thea?" Edelgard asked my girlfriend. "Well, someone thought she's brave enough to go to the haunted house and dragged me along." I answered. "Hey! You're suppose to be on my side!" Dorothea pouted. "Ah, I see. You two are having your date. But now it seems like the four of us are stuck in this maze. Why don't we help each other? After we find the exit, Hubert and I will leave you two alone to continue your date."
"Oh! Good idea, Edie!" Dorothea beamed, as she ran up to her best friend and pulled her by the arm. "Thea! Wait for us! We'll get separated if you run ahead like that!" I yelled. I caught up with the girls along with Hubert. Though unsurprisingly, he had been quiet since we met. "So, what are you doing here with Edelgard?" I asked, trying to create a convo with the usually silent man. "She insisted that we go to the carnival on this "beautiful" day." Hubert answered in his usual monotone voice. Though, that was all I could manage to get out of him. It's always so awkward when I walk with him.
I spaced out after that small conversation with Hubert. "Y/n! Y/n! Look! We made it!" I heard Dorothea's voice call out to me. "Good job, Thea." I said, as I pat her on the head. "Thanks to you too, Edelgard." The white haired girl shook her head. "If we didn't ran into the both of you, we may not have reached the end." She replied. "Well, whatever the reason is, we finally made it!" Dorothea cheered. "Well, it seems like it's getting quite late. The two of you should hurry and finish the date." Hubert said. The two of us watch the usual duo and bowed our heads. "Thankyou for helping us. We best be off then." I said. "Right, bye Hubbie, bye Eddie!" Thea said, as we waved goodbye and rode the ferris wheel.
"Let's agree to never get in the haunted house ever again..." Dorothea said quietly. "Of course. Let's go somewhere else next time. I think I'm tired of carnivals for a while." I said. "Yeah, sure... Oh! We can go to the movies next time! Ferdinand told me there's a popular movie airing." She said with a cute smile. I chuckled. "Yea, of course. As long as it isn't horror." I said, we both laugh. Yea, we'll take a break from haunted houses for a while.
