The Inquisitorial Squad were rounding up what was left of Dumbledore's Army when she found them on the fourth floor. She had been drawn by the shouts from a familiar voice.

"Let me go!" Lavender tried to wriggle from Pansy's grasp.

"Umbridge's orders." Pansy sneered, twisting her arm in one hand and holding her wand in the other.

"Ouch! Stop it!"

Valentine gritted her teeth, watching from behind a nearby statue.

"Bootlickers!" One of the Patil twins, the one being held back by Millicent Bulstrode, spat.

"You'll be sorry when Umbridge gets what's coming to her." Said the other twin, being held back by Crabbe. "Because you'll get it too."

"Shut up!" Pansy pointed Lavender's wand in her direction. "You talk a lot for someone on the losing side, you know that?"

The others laughed and jeered at that as though Pansy had just unloaded a truly witty and original insult.

Then she nodded to them and gestured up the hall.

"Let's put this lot with the others."

"What, with the Weasel and the loony one?" Asked Goyle.

"No, idiot." Pansy sneered. "Philips said putting too many together could be trouble, remember? We'll put these with Finnigan in the broom closet on the fifth floor."

"Then what?" Asked Bulstrode.

"Then you three can watch the door and I'll go back to Umbridge's office and see if Draco and the others need back up."

They all seemed to agree and begun to drag the three girls up the hall.

"Get off me, Pug Face!" Lavender shrieked and stomped on Pansy's foot.

"Ouch!" The other girl leapt back, letting go of Lavender's arm and dropping her wand.

"Quick!" The Patil's urged her as Lavender dove to swipe up her wand off the floor.

She held it up threateningly, facing the others.

"Let- let them go." She swallowed visibly, trying to be brave.

"What do we do?" Asked Crabbed, panicked.

"Don't be stupid!" Bulstrode pulled out her wand as well. "We still have them outnumbered."

"Right!" Pansy now had her wand out as well, the boys following suit a beat behind.

Lavender turned white as a sheet.

"Just run!" One of the twins ordered. "Get help! Get McGonagall!"

"She's not going anywhere!" Bulstrode stabbed her wand into the side of the girl's neck. "Didn't you hear me? You're outnumbered."

Not quite.

Valentine pulled out her wand from her pocket and pointed it towards the ceiling, not far from the group.

Bombarda!

So high above them it caused no injuries but was loud enough they all jumped two feet into the air.

"What was that!" Pansy yelped in fear, staring up at the smoke and small flickers of light above their heads.

"Run!" The Patil in Crabbe's grasp used the moment of confusion to wrench herself away.

She kicked at his knee and then reached to help her sister.

"Crap! Don't let them get away!" Pansy growled.
