Ivory's POV

I stared at the crowd of journalists surrounding that one man from a distance. They all were here for one thing, the same reason as me. Anyone who got the scoop first, would instantly climb up the ladder of fame. Like desperate animals, they clawed and pushed forward, not caring for the woman who fell down with a shriek.

I sighed. There was no way in hell I would be able to be the first one to publish an article on the billionaire. And a failure today, meant getting fired. It meant letting my dream slip away from my grasp. It meant letting Mr. Bohn win.

No, I needed to find a way out, I could not forfeit that quickly. Fortunately, Mr. Hughes was very much not interested in talking to, or even looking at, any of those paps, and rudely maneuvered his way through.

What did they even expect huh? His sister died literally yesterday, and here they were shouting questions at him. All they cared for was their profit. They had no shame at all.

'You do know you are here for the same reason, riiiiight?' My stupid subconscious remarked.

'I am being forced, I would have never willingly done this. Besides, no one is a saint.' I rolled my eyes, and the lady crossing me, looked at me weirdly for well, rolling my eyes at nothing.

Oh the number of times i had embarrassed myself because I was showing my emotions from daydreams or thoughts, onto my face. That one time I started laughing in the middle of a sermon for my dead neighbor since i was daydreaming about being interviewed by Mr Bean.

Don't ask.

I chuckled at that memory, and that same lady who had stared at me, looked back with raised eyebrows and a scowl on her face. She rushed ahead, seemingly wanting to get far away from me.

Meh, not that i care. I have a mission to succeed. A mission from which I might never return. AN ENEMY SO POWERFUL-

'Uhh miss can you please stop glaring and umm, using your pen as a sword at my puppy? He is getting scared." A man interrupted, and i awkwardly lowered down my arm. Gosh, okay focus now Ivs, focus.

My eyes flickered back to the man.....who was not there anymore?! What the hell??? HE WAS RIGHT THERE A SECOND AGO.

I noticed the crowd was slowly dispersing, and sighed in despair. Mr. Hughes had left, and had taken away my only chance at succeeding, with him. Considering that it was early morning, it was safe to assume he had gone to his office. Pardon me, not that it is any of my business, but who the hell works on the day after their sister's death??

I gazed onto the high building established in front of me. As i stared at the employees rushing inside so as to not be late, a thought molded into a plan.

"Who are you again?" the old receptionist asked. Dang it, I forgot it.

"What do you mean you forgot?" She raised her eyebrows. I wasn't supposed to say that out loud ughh.

"I am asking your name young lady, not whether you took out the garbage or not." Came her sarcastic reply. OH HELL I FORGOT THAT TOO!!

"No, I meant I forgot your name, uhm miss.." I drifted off, trying to cover up my stupidity.

"That's Miss Grindell, and I see no appointment for Miss Brittany Astoncia." She scowled. Oh, right! That's what i had told her my name was. Don't ask, but i have a particular dislike for that name. (AN; So does Taylor if yall might recall ;))

"Oh she must have forgotten all about it, she doesn't have the sharpest memory after all." I sighed exasperatedly, keeping up my act. "But Mrs Grinch-dell, Mrs Grindell, it happens to be very urgent. I need to speak to her, otherwise- otherwise I DONT KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN!" I dramatically shrieked and cried out, hands in the air to appear convincing. She sat there dazed by my performance, I am not that great old lady, and before she could come back on planet earth, i slipped through the door, into the office.

"Wait but, who do you even have to meet?" She yelled behind me, while i hurried through, pretending not to hear her.

Oh Ivonette Bohn, you are going to hell for this.

But that's after Idie, right now the only obstacle in front of me is to find his office.

AN; I welcome the mere 3 generous people reading this, as we embark on this ride. Those who have read my other work, know my writing style is basically humor, while at the same time, causing pain with my words. Not the best combinations, but deal with me through the story of Ivonette Bohn.

COMMENT WHAT YOU THINK OF HER -->
