For once Nicole Robinson entered the school cafeteria, something that barely ever happened. She made her way through the crowded room, feeling the stares of some students as she went to collect her lunch from the line. For her meal the girl grabbed herself an apple, a pack of milk and the chocolate pudding she actually didn't even like. It wasn't much for a proper meal, but it was more than nothing. Walking to the back of the cafeteria by the windows, where most outcasts and freaks usually spent their lunch; she sat down at a table alone, mostly picking at the pudding and questioning why in hell she even got it in the first place.
Sitting with her walkman on only one of her ears, she kept the other one occupied by listening to whatever was being said by those around her. It wasn't like she cared about what others had to say, but it was entertaining to hear other students whine about their love-life and other problems that sounded otherworldly to her. As she was about to put both headphones on, she was stopped by her instinctive curiosity by none other than the Hellfire Club's leader, Eddie Munson.
The teenage boy in question had gotten up on the table he was sitting at, walking across it as he began to speak his mind rather loudly for all of the cafeteria to hear. Nicole couldn't just ignore such a moment, these things were gold.
"...But as long as you're into band, or science, or parties..." Eddie paused as he looked over to the basketball team, seemingly disgusted with them.
"Or GAMES where you toss BALLS into LAUNDRY BASKETS!"
Maybe he would have continued with his great speech if it wasn't for Mason Dye who stood up, obviously angered by the taunting. He looked at Eddie the same way that he had looked at the basketball team in which Mason played in.
"Do you want something, freak?" He has asked rather aggressively which Eddie 'the freak' Munson responded to by raising his hands to his head, using them to resemble devil horns while also making animalistic noises.
The freakshow continued as the king of freaks himself jumped off the table, scaring a teacher in the process. He said something about how forced conforment was killing the kids. He was a weird one, but in a funny way; it wasn't like Nicole had anything to say about it, she was an outcast too and she was also sort of friends with Eddie...
Nicole had been planning on meeting with him that day, being out of weed. Eddie hadn't been her supplier originally, but three months prior her guy got caught driving under the influence with illegal substances in his car; ever since that happened the D&D player had been her guy, but they usually met up in more discreet places since she barely ever spent her free time inside the school.
Deciding on approaching the Hellfire table, some of the members stared at her as if shocked, but it hadn't alerted Eddie before she had already pulled a chair up and seated herself right next to him. The messy haired girl placed her opened chocolate pudding in front of the freak king, the two of them making brief eye contact before Eddie grabbed the pudding with a raised brown and smug smile.
"Miss Nicky Robinson, to what do I owe this pleasure?" He had asked even though he knew that it had to do about stocking up on weed. Nicole had glanced at the staring nerds before turning back to the one she had walked over to meet. She watched as he shoved a spoon of her pudding into his mouth while waiting for an answer, somewhat hinting at her to speak with a small nod.
"Out of weed, simple as that. I kind of need it now." The girl had said it in a lower voice since the topic was pretty much illegal and she didn't need her or Eddie to end up in jail.
"Right here, right now? Why do you need it at this very moment— we are in the cafeteria, I hope you're aware of that?" It wasn't like he was worried, it was more like the sudden approach made him curious.
Rolling her eyes, Nicole pulled out a good $40 and placed it right in front of the other teen. "Do I look blind, Eddie? I'm skipping the rest of the day, I only came to lunch because I knew you'd be here. So can you help me out or not?"
Eddie grabbed the cash, shaking his head at the $10 tip she always gave him for no reason. He reached into one of his vest's pockets, pulling out a plastic bag and discreetly handing it over to the girl. "You going out to paint?" He asked as he watched the girl get up from her seat, almost getting lost in time as he did so. Whenever the teen looked at Nicole he would think back to Halloween of 85, wondering why things had played out the way they did.
Throwing her bag over her shoulder, the girl smiled and nodded as the answer to Eddie's question. She lightly punched his shoulder as she walked past him to leave. "Ding, ding, ding! Right on, freak king!" Nicole called out, jokingly blowing a kiss his way for being able to help her so abruptly. With that she left the cafeteria and went on with her plans for the day.
Once Nicole had left, all of the Hellfire club members turned to look at Eddie, some with smug smiles and others simply looking at him to continue their conversation they had before being interrupted by a girl.
Mike Wheeler and Dustin Henderson then cleared their throats in sync before speaking up about the situation with their friend Lucas Sinclair.
"So, about Lucas..."
