Chapter 2- Limit Of Patience

Charlie continued to recover. Kate took good care of him at the hospital. She even paid for him the hospital bill. She was very kind to him. His worry was to know her need after the good will she did for him. Every girl wanted something from him. The other day during his shift, a girl wanted his sperm just to have a cute baby like him.

In truth he was handsome, body built, black eyeballs and his eyes popped many girls' dreams of prince charming. In the restaurant, he worked at he was hit on almost daily. Girls stoked her from his home to his workplace. He was uncomfortable with girls due to that fact.

Apart from being his life savor she got a pass. She was easy to talk to and he got comfortable around her since he woke up from the hospital. She had a kind heart, beautiful smile that made Charlie think she was different from the other girls.

"You are awake?" She saw Charlie looking at the ceiling board.

"Yes, I am." He answered as he helped himself to sit well.

"Sorry for being late I had to change my clothes I couldn't stay in nurse clothes for two days we have been here." She spoke.

"It's ok Kate. Thank You for coming back" He replied smiling at her as she stared at her flipping hair blown by the wind which blew from an open window. She pulled her hair back and smiled back.

"Anytime. Want magazines, I brought you some." She took two and gave him.

They talked as they drank tea. The doctor then came in with his aunt Rachel.

"Here is your Son, please get in." The doctor opened the door to let her in.

"Oh my Son what have they done to you, Jesus" she ran to him.

"Aunt I am ok now don't worry I will be fine." He replied and hugged her back.

"Hello I am Kate." she introduced herself.

"Am Rachel." She answered. You are the one who saved my son. Thank You." She added. "It was nothing really. I was there at a right time." Kate replied.

She talked to the doctor about the bill only to find out Kate had already taken care of it.

"Thank you for the bill." She said.

"It's ok Aunt Rachel it's the least I can do," Kate replied.

His aunt called the restaurant he worked at and told him of what had happened to her son. They gave him a time out to recover from his injuries.

Kate farewelled with Charlie and his Aunt as she had to return home to her family. She gave him a new phone as his old one was stolen through which she said she will call him from.

Charlie thanked her for everything she had done for him and his family.

Kate called her driver and drove off home.

At her family House, her dad and grandmother were having breakfast. Her Dad asked her to join but when she saw Francis she rejected the offer.

"Kate Diane Lester come down and dine with your family" her grandmother yelled.

"Am not hungry grandmother." She stood looking away from the dining room when her grandmother yelled her name.

"Please honey come eat breakfast with us please even a glass of juice." Her dad insisted wanting to avoid yet another confrontation between his mother and daughter.

"Ok am coming." She turned and walked to the second side of the table away from Francis.

"Welcome home Kate." He conversed. She looked at him and poured a glass of juice to drink.
