Charlie got up early in the morning as he used to in Dar Es Salaam. This time it felt different because someone had accepted him for his work not because he was more handsome to let go. He always cleaned up nice thanks to his aunt Rachel who taught him well.

"You look good Son" Miss Rachel complemented.

"Thanks, Aunt, you raised me well and you taught me well." He couldn't hold back the credit to his aunt.

He wore his favorite Light blue shirt and black trouser. His shoes were shiny one could see his or her own face on them. He took pride on his own making he did not hold back. His aunt had a gray fancy Toyota Corolla he took to work.

When Charlie arrived at his new job, everyone was staring at him as if he was an alien from outer space. He was a genuinely social guy, he did not hold back to greeting one by one to cross to the manager. As the manager held his hand lighting rushed through her hand. She trembled giggled and smiled, something she had not done for any worker. The shock was too real for her she almost fainting, luckily Charlie held her to stand still.

"What are you looking at, everyone back to work." She said trying to hide her own desire of having Charlie to her arms on the spot.

"Are you ok Miss?" Charlie asked.

"Yes, I am ok why shouldn't I be?" She struggled to stand on her feet as she moved sideways shying away to the voice which made her feel things she never felt before.

"Miss you have to show me the kitchen remember?" He reminded her of the promise she made the other day when she gave him the job. He had not seen the kitchen.

"Yes, the Kitchen sorry I forgot." She pulled herself back to him. She was still uncomfortable walking with Charlie to the kitchen. She mumbled words Charlie didn't understand. She was a real talker.

"This is the kitchen Charlie, make yourself at home. I hope these other chefs will make you feel welcome." She walked through and introduced him to everyone in the kitchen. All the other chefs they were also staring at him like back in the reception.

She showed him his office since he was the acting Master Chef. It was a position he thought he will never reach his young age. Most Master Chefs he came across had gray hair already.

The manager really liked the food he made the other day and she decided it was a post to a man talented as him.

"Make a meal for tonight. One of the Hotel Owners is coming to visit with his wife and he always wants the best chef to do his cooking." The manager said,

"A good meal it is, again thank you for this opportunity and being here to this wonderful hotel means a lot to me personally." He replied.

"Just do your best and you made it yesterday please impress him. He will make you the Master Chef and it's a big deal." The manager hinted.

The manager left and Charlie started to get busy. Unlike other first starters of the job, he did not mind to start right away to make the food for the evening to impress the hotel owner. His colleagues looked at him and whispered behind his back. Spoke bad words about him. He did not want to care because he was doing one of the things he liked best.

In the afternoon, he made a surprise lunch for every chef in his kitchen cube. They were surprised to his cooking and felt guilty of speaking ill about him. He looked at them and laughed it off because it was the only way he knew how to shut people up.

"Nice food man, I really enjoyed it." One of the chefs talked as he moved closer to where He was sitting.

"Well you guys were talking ill of me and I just had to shut all of you up and to me making a delicious meal makes it all worth the guilt handsome," Charlie replied
