Niall's POVIt's amazing how many new things you find in a room after a lap around it. I've paced around my hotel room 44 times...yes I'm counting. Anything to get my mind off of the text I sent with no reply from Georgia in two hours. Did I type the number in wrong? Is she straight up ignoring me?
On the 45th lap, I find a little crack in the wall by the TV that I hadn't seen before. See what I mean? New things pop up every lap. It won't be long before I have every inch of this room memorized.
A knock on the door pulls me out of my thoughts about Georgia. I almost say "come in", but I remember it's a hotel room door, so it's locked. I sigh, and reluctantly break out of my pacing to open it. It takes a few seconds for me to process who it is, "Oh! Hey Lilly."
Lilly. She's my girlfriend. I mean, not really my girlfriend, but in a way she is. Management set us up three months ago for a PR stunt (nothing new). We signed a six month contract as a fake couple so the paps can have something to write about.
Lilly's a sweet girl, but I don't have any sort of feelings for her and she just thinks of me as a good friend. We've talked about it multiple times and agree that we wouldn't work as an actual couple. Like I said, she's nice, but not for me.
"Good morning," she says a bit tiredly.
I open the door further and step aside so she can come in, "Good morning. Ya doing okay, Lilly?"
She smiles half-heartedly, "Yeah. Went clubbing with some friends last night. Got a little bit of a headache."
Worry shoots through my stomach and I question her, "Ya didn't do anything right?"
I'm talking about hanging around another guy and accidentally making it look like they're together. I couldn't care less if she was into another guy, but management wouldn't be happy if the paps caught them and put it all over the internet. They've threatened us to have a perfect looking relationship until the six months are over, or else. We don't know what "or else" means, but I don't think either of us want to find out.
Lilly's eyes wide in horror. She shakes her head violently, "No of course not! It's too risky."
I breathe a sigh of relief, "Good. Just had to make sure. We don't want management after us."
She nods slowly, her face falling a bit. We both hate this whole situation, but we try not to talk about it often. She shakes her head, replacing her sad expression with a happy one, "Look what I bought you for breakfast!" She says holding up a grocery bag.
I eagerly snatch it from her and pull out a package of muffins. The lable says blueberry on it and I give her a huge smile before searching the room for my wallet.
I eyed Lilly suspiciously, "How did you know I like blueberry muffins?"
"It wasn't hard. You're Niall," she says as she rolls her eyes.
I find my wallet on the counter and dig through it to find some money, "And what is that supposed to mean?"
"I've known you long enough to know that if it's food, you'll like it."
She's not wrong. I like pretty much everything I eat. Food is food, and I'm a foodie. Blueberry muffins are particularly my favorite. They're the best.
I fish out a 5 dollar bill from a compartment in my wallet and hold it out to Lilly. She slaps my hand away, "Nope. The muffins are my treat."
I take another step toward her. Reaching my arm out again, I made my eyes wide and put a pouty face on, "Please? I don't want ya to go broke on my account."
