Taehyung stood just a couple of steps away from his father's front door, contemplating his decision to pay him a visit. After receiving an urgent call from his father the day before, he couldn't ignore the need to see him. Taking a deep breath, he pressed the doorbell, the sound of a dog barking from inside the house bringing a smile to his face. He knew it was his beloved dog, Tannie. The door swung open, revealing the familiar face of his father, someone he admired and loved deeply.

"Abeoji!" Taehyung greeted softly, standing before his father. Mr. Kim smiled warmly, closing the distance between them for a tight embrace.

"My boy," Mr. Kim uttered, his voice filled with affection as he held his son tightly.

"Come inside... I've prepared something for you to eat," Mr. Kim said excitedly. Taehyung's eyes widened in surprise at the mention of his father cooking for him. It had been nearly 15 years since his father retired as a professional chef, but his skills remained unmatched.

"Really?" Taehyung exclaimed, a bright smile lighting up his face. Mr. Kim couldn't help but smile back, instructing his son to take a seat at the table. They spent the next hour reminiscing about old times and discussing Taehyung's future projects in Korea.

"I'm proud of you, Taehyung," Mr. Kim expressed sincerely.

"You're the only part of me that I haven't been disappointed in."

"You're the better version of me in every possible way!" Mr. Kim's eyes glistened with emotion. Taehyung furrowed his brows, quickly reaching out to hold his father's hand resting on the table.

"Abeoji!"

"You're the reason I am who I am today!"

"I'm grateful to have you as my father," Taehyung spoke earnestly, causing his father's eyes to well up with tears.

"Taehyung... I know I've failed you," Mr. Kim confessed.

"But please know that I'm doing my best... and there's only so much I can fix at this point in time," he added, his voice filled with regret. Taehyung gently squeezed his father's hand, offering comfort.

"Abeoji, it's been almost 25 years since your divorce with my mother," Taehyung reminded him.

"I know it's been difficult, but you need to stop dwelling on the past and start living your life, abeoji!" Taehyung urged, pressing his hands onto his father's.
