Avalon's POV
-
After 10 minutes of trying my best not to run off the road and kill the boys, we make it to Luke's house.
I shift uncomfortably in my seat, worrying about seeing Luke's mom again. I haven't see her since a week after my assault, I've been such a pussy. I feel guilty that I never came to see her after Luke went away.
"You coming Ava?"
I look at Dylan and nod, "Yea, sorry. I was just thinking about something."
I open the door and get out, following Luke to the door. When he finally unlocks it, Dylan pushes his way into the house, making us laugh.
"Luke!"
"In here, mom."
When I see Stacie come into the foyer, I get deja vu, i look at her, expecting her to be mad, but when she sees me, her eyes go wide, "Oh, hi dear." She says softly.
She walks up to me slowly, opening her arms. I smile and walk into her hug, putting my arms around her thin waist, "Hi, Stacie."
She laughs, "At least you remembered my name."
"How could I forget?"
She smiles at me then turns to Luke hugging him too, "We have a lot to talk about, boy." She stated.
"Yea, we do, Ma." He says, and turns to look at Marco, "this is my friend Marco."
Stacie looks Marco over suspiciously, then smiles, "So your the friend that stood up for my boy?"
Marco laughs, "I didn't really stand up for him, I was just looking at for him."
"Same thing."
Stacie gives Marco a look before giving him a hug, Marco stiffens at the contact but doesn't back away, "Luke has told me a lot of things about you."
Stacie laughs, "I bet he has," she says, "Okay, okay, enough sad shit, let's eat some dinner, huh?"
"Hey! What about me?"
We all look over at Dylan, who's sitting in the ottoman against the wall, Stacie scoffs, "Dylan, you've been here more than me. I don't need to say hi to you."
Dylan laughs and gets up, following us into the kitchen. When we walk into the modern white and grey kitchen, we all sit down. Me and Dylan on one side and Luke and Marco in the other, "What are we having?" I ask.
"Chicken Alfredo," she says, "that okay, hun?"
I nod, getting nervous, so much carbs, grease and other things will have more calories than I've had in a while.
"You okay?" Dylan asks, grabbing my knee to stop it from shaking.
"Yes, I'm fine."
I move my gaze over to Luke only to see his eyes filled with anger, i avert my eyes, looking down at my blank plate.
"If you guys want, the pool is open, you can go swim until dinner." Stacie says, pointing to the back door.
I clear my throat, "I didn't bring a swimsuit."
"Oh, well I have some from a couple years ago you could use. You seem to be close to my size."
I smile, feeling nervous, "okay."
Dylan gets up, running to the back door, already taking his clothes off. Did the already plan to swim and didn't tell me?
I get up from my seat as well, going out the back door towards Dylan, lowering my voice to a whisper. "Why didn't you mention we were swimming?"
