THE CAT WAS BACK the next morning, except this time it was perched on the small windowsill outside of the only source of natural light in her tiny bedroom, and Laurie opened her eyes to find that almost directly next to her head there was the creature and it meowed when it saw her wake, also causing her to jump out of her skin and bang her head, sweating upon impact.
