Why didn't they come....

A young child opens her eyes. The sun blinded her. Wincing she groaned and sat up and covered her eyes in the sun.
Looking around she saw a very pretty scenery which reminded her of fairy tale kingdoms.
She crawls out of the bed as she walks to the door as it slowly opens. She saw a shadow of a man sitting in a chair as. She smiles and walks over.
She saw a taller man reading a book as he took a sip and looked at her.
"Glad you're awake" he said.
The child looked at him curiously as she stood there.

Strange studied the child as he closed the book. The toddler had dark black hair and blue eyes. Her skin was a beautiful melanin color though she had white freckles. Though she was quite small for her age.

"What is your name?"he said looking at her. The girl looks at her hands.
"Maxie"she said as she looked at him.
"Well then Maxie.How old are you?"
"3...I 4 May 18 "she said with strange hums. But
"Well Maxie I'm Doctor Steven strange, I will be looking after you"he said. The small child named Maxie looked around before seeing a stranger's cape fly towards her.
Maxie stared as she reached for the cloak . The cloak moved away before the cloak pats her head and flew off.
Maxie looked at the cloak then back at strange. Strange said nothing as he looked at her. Both unsure what to do.
Suddenly her stomach ended the silence.
Her growl was not loud but the look of discomfort was very noticeable.

Strange hummed as he poured a cup of tea for her.
"Have this for now. I need to figure out what to prepare"he said casually he stood up and walked past her. Maxie looked at the floating tea as she carefully took the tea and sips on it. She hums and went to find the man named Doctor strange.

Strange found nothing she would like and he needed to restock anyways. With a sigh he opens up a portal and steps into a McDonald's.
People immediately took photos as he waited in line not letting anyone offer their spots.
While he did so a kid walked over holding a strange action figure.
"Um...hello"he said the boy gasped.
"Your my hero"he said softly as he then walked away. Strange hums annoyed to the teenagers and adults filming him which lead to more people coming in.
Once arriving it was a young man who looked very excited and nervous.
"Hello sir w-what can I get you t-today"he said in a shaky tone.
Strange looked at the menu.
"Can I have a happy meal?"He said. The man looked confused.
"A happy meal,"he said with a chuckle. Strange looked back at the man with a blank look.
"Is there a problem with that-"
"No sir one happy meal will that be six or four"
"Six and a medium fry. A Fanta will suffice"he said casually.
"Okay that will be 5.67"he said
"Actually...sorry but I would like a ten piece with sweet and sour sauce and a Diet Coke"he said looking.
"Will that be all?"
"Yes"
"Alright, that will be 9.22"said the teenaged boy. Strange pulled out a wallet and paid with a ten.
"Keep the change"he said as he waited patiently.
While doing so a group of teenaged girls rushed over with phones.
"Omg doctor strange is in McDonald's don't you eat wizard food"said the first one. Strange narrowed his eyes.
"See how everyone else takes a video or photo and leave me alone I suggest you do the same"
"It's not eveyday a civilian meets a super hero"she said strange sighed.
"So come onn why are you at McDonald's-"
"Order 127"said a girl. Strange looked up and walks over taking the bag and happy meal.
"A happy meal strange has a child-question mark-"
"DidI know you did not just say a punctuation"he said more to himself as he opened the portal. "If anyone follows through you will be cursed"he said as he stepped in and closed the portal.

Sighing he looked around the kitchen and grabbed some plates. He prepared her plate before going to find her.

Maxie followed the cloak as the cloak guided her around the house the cloak saw Strange and went towards him. Strange saw the two and hums.
"Seems my friend here likes you Maxie"he said. Maxie looked at the cloak.
"Pretty"she said softly. The cloak made a proud motion.
"Yes my friend is rather pretty"he mocked. The cloak turned to strange as it flew by and shoved him as strange chuckled.
"Come on I brought some food"he said. Maxie follows him to the kitchen as she sees the meal.

Maxie rushed past him as she sat on the table and began to eat her meal. She was fairly skinny and the older man somewhat pitied the girl. He sat across and ate with her.

Once done the sun had set and Strange decided for Maxie to rest.
Strange stood in front of a room with a sleepy Maxie as she rubs her eyes.
"Okay do you want this room?"he said changing the room to a more comfortable style area. "This room?"He made a more princess room. "Or are you more tomboyish"he said, making a more gender neutral room.
He turns only Maxie isn't there. Instead Maxie was crawling back into his bed. Strange sighed as he followed her.
"Hey no wait"he said but Maxie tucked herself in and smiled at strange.
"Goodnight"she yawns as she closed her eyes with a smile. Strange watched her and sighed. He widened the bed and placed a pillow in between them as he laid on the side. Sighing he laid on his back and slowly fell into a dee sleep.
