The Coronation Day

Today was the day of coronation. The crowning day of my elder brother, Prince Phelix or should I say, King Phelix. I knew he and his wife, Selena will be a worthy king and queen of our kingdom Greenwood.

Some people may think that I should fight for the position of the king as I am a Prince too and I should not be considered for the position just because I am the second son and not the first. But in honesty, I don't want to be a king. And if you ask me I can even sacrifice my royal life if the situation arises.

For me, a life with someone I love is the best life. We both build our own world where we both are content and happy.

I glanced back at Damon, hopefully with him.

"Did you said something, Prince Elias?"
Damon asked me. I just shake my head in denial.

And again we both were surrounded by the silence.

If you wondering what happened after the emotional hug. Well, Damon was the first one to pull back and advised me that I should take a rest because I must be tired from the day activities even tho I denied it but we all know how Damon is. If he wants something done, nothing can stop him. He was there until I get under the covers on my bed. After that, he said his good night wishes and went to sleep in the warrior's shelter that is attached to the palace.

As soon as he left Maxwell came and took his position outside my room.

And when I opened my eyes Damon was back.

I sometimes wonder that maybe Damon likes it when I wake up seeing his face first thing in the morning. Because he is always there when I woke up and not Maxwell.

But now this a new day and the beautiful moments have ended.

The coronation time was scheduled around two in the afternoon and right now it's noon. I have to be there to welcome the guests and check on other things. And to mingle with other royal guests.

"Are you gonna be with me the whole time or you will be busy with the security duty?"

"I will be the security team today but my eyes will always be on you, so don't worry about your security" he answered.

I began "the first part was kinda romantic but then the second part reminds me why we are still in a bond of a prince and his bodyguard and nothing else."

"Sorry but I don't get your reference, Prince Elias" he bowed down a little.

"We both know what I meant Damon. No need to act so clueless."

It was silence again.

I checked myself the last time in the mirror and nodded to myself. Let's get this celebration started. I strolled towards the door where Damon was standing and he was quick to follow me out of my room.

We walked in silence towards the main hall of the palace.

It was like I stepped into heaven. It was that mesmerising.

"I think this is it. You go to your duty and I go do mine."

He looked at me after I spoke my words. We maintained eye contact for two minutes I suppose and he nodded and left.

Some of the guests were present already and most of the citizens of our kingdom were outside the palace waiting for the first glance of their new king. It's insane how much they respect my brother but then it makes sense. He is perfect in each sense.

I turned around and gasped in surprise.
"Sister Livia, what a pleasant surprise."

I walked towards her and hugged her tightly. She was something that I can call close to a mother. When mother died because of an unknown disease it was Livia who took the role of the woman of the family. But when Selena, brother's wife came to this family, father decided it was time to get Livia married.

As Livia is the second child of the family and me the youngest. She was married before than me.

I saw King Magnus right behind her and bowed to show my respect but he holds me in a hug. Even tho King Magnus is known to have a cold demeanour but when it comes to the family he is always the softest. Sister talks so highly of him that even I get jealous even tho I got Damon.

Okay not got him but still, I have my eyes on him for a long time. And we sure share something different you can't deny that.

"King Magnus, I am glad you two could make it to brother's coronation. He will be on top of the world when he sees you both" I stated with a smile which must be radiation how esthetic I was to see them here.

You see they both reside far from us. It takes a week to come here and with my sister, with them, it must have taken longer.

My sister came behind me and squeezed my left shoulder.

"We couldn't miss Brother Phelix, it is a one-time thing. And I missed you all too much to not come on this occasion" she ended with a giggle.

I looked back at King Magnus and he was looking at Sister Livia like she was the only one present in this hall. I hope one day Damon will look at me like that too.

"I hope you two are staying for a long time now that you have come to Greenwood," I asked with hope lacing my all words.

"We are going to—"
As soon as King Magnus started to answer father voice boomed in the hall. He surely is a king. His voice has that volume of a king.

We all three turned to my father who was striding towards us.

We all three bowed to him with a small "your highness".

He laughed and opened his arms "oh no need for all this, in few hours I will not be the king anymore."

We all three stand straight again and it was King Magnus who spoke first "It is true that everyone bow to you because you are a king but you have earned it King Atticus. And even after you will not be the king anymore all heads will still bow to you."

Father smiled proudly and bind him in a bear hug. After that Sister Livia was the one to get the famous bear hug of our father.

At last, he hugged me asked "is everything ready Elias?"

"Yes, father no problems have been there till now and all the warriors are on high alert."
