Chapter XLVI

AN:  soo, I wanted to spoil you with another chapter, because there's a big festival/party kind of thing in our town with a parade and fireworks (it's called "Schützenfest" in Germany) for the whole next week so I wouldn't be able to write or update.

A few days have passed and Fred couldn’t take it anymore.

Everyone realized he was a wreck, mentally and physically.

Every attempt to cheer him up failed and George was heartbroken to see his twin in this state.

But he also knew that Fred himself was to blame for this situation.

After telling him everything, George had stared at him and debated with himself whether to hex him or just punch the fucking shit out of him.

But Penny wasn’t doing well either.

She stayed with Remus and Sirius but rarely left her room.

They started leaving her trays of food in front of her door but she barley touched it.

Remus and Sirius were starting to worry, and both men knew they had to do something.

„Penny?“ The knock on the door followed by Remus‘ voice pulled Penny out of her daydream.

„Penny, can we come in?“ Remus asked from the other side of the door.

„Yes.“, she answered quietly and shortly afterwards the door opened and the two men entered.

„What’s up?“, she looked at the two expectantly.

„We’re worried. And we think it would be good if you talk to Fred and give him a chance to explain.“ Remus began, looking at Sirius.

„And then you can decide how to proceed. But it won’t change anything if you keep locked up in your room,“ Sirius finished.

„I know,“ Penny replied shortly.

„Okay.“ Sirius frowned and looked questioningly at Remus.

„I thought about it and – and I want to see Fred,“ she finally said.

„Oh, er, of course. When?“ Sirius asked.

„I’ll go to the flat. Today. Now to be specific.“, she said and Remus looked anything but satisfied with her statement.

„You think that’s a good idea?“, he questioned with an raised eyebrow.

„I do.“

„But – we can come with you? For your safety.“, he added and Penny laughed.

"Or we let him come here." Sirius suggested.

„It’s Fred were talking about, yes, he reacted different the past weeks but he would never do anything to me.“, she said with a stern voice letting Remus and Sirius know that there’s no point in arguing. And both of them nodded.

„What if he really cheated on me?“ she asked Remus in a sad voice.

„Then he’ll wish he never did when I cut off that thing that makes him a man.“ Remus joked.

„Not funny. I’m serious.“ she looked at him and from the corner of her eye she saw Sirius open his mouth.

„Don’t you dare to say what you’re going to say!“, she pointed at him and the Black heir raised his hands in defeat and grinned at her.

„Yeah, never mind.“ Remus chuckled slightly, leading back to the conversation.

„The point is, no one can tell you what to do then. It’s only your choice, whether you can live with it and forgive him or not.“ he took her hand and squeezed it reassuringly.
