Epilogue

„They‘re adorable.“ He smiled while gently, rocking  the sleeping baby in his arms.

„They look like you.“ She giggled as she gently stroked the baby’s cheek in her arms.

„But they are just as beautiful as you.“ He replied quietly.

„I can’t believe there are two.“ She giggled and shook her head.

„Neither do I. Seems the Wizarding world isn’t that far ahead of the muggle world after all.“ He joked.

„You’re doing well. Just push one more time and you’re done, Penny.“ Praised the healer standing in the delivery room and Penny gathered all her strength and pushed one last time before a high pitched scream filled the room.

They took the baby and placed it in an exhausted Penny’s arms while Fred gaped at the scene.

„Congratulations, a healthy girl.“ Said the healer.

Penny, overwhelmed by all the emotions, felt another pain, another one imminent and she panicked.

„There’s something else.“ She stuttered.

„Yes, that’s the placenta.“ The healer tried to calm Penny while she rubbed the baby dry and wrapped it in a thick towel and placed it in the father’s arms.

„No. Seriously. It hurts so much.“ Penny cried and Fred immediately pricked up his ears, slight panic rising in him.

The Healer went to Penny and checked.

„Oh.“ Was all she said and Penny screamed in pain.

„What’s happening?“ Fred asked anxiously with the baby in his arms.

„Well, there’s another baby.“

„WHAT?“ Penny screamed in disbelief.

„Yeah, I’m, I’m sorry, they must be twins, I can already see the head, Penny, you have to push again.“ She instructed and Penny had no choice. Her body responded intuitively, and after another agonizing contraction, the screams of a second baby filled the room.

„Another baby girl.“ The healer smiled, rubbed the baby clean and handed it to Penny.

Penny’s hands were shaking, a sense of confusion overcoming the feeling of sheer happiness as she gazed down at the second baby in her arms.

 

A knock on the door made the two new parents look up.

The healer who was helping with the delivery looked through the door.

„There’s visitors for you.“ She said and after a nod from both of them she opened the door.

George was the first to enter, followed by Lee, then Remus and Sirius, and finally the rest of the Weasley family.

„Whoa! Whose baby did you steal?“ George asked in astonishment as he looked from the baby in his twin’s arms to the baby in his sister-in-law’s arms. Molly covered her mouth when she saw the two babies and Remus looked like he was about to pass out.

„Are those twins?“ Lee asked the obvious.

„No, there was a promotion. Give birth to one, get the second for free.“ Fred replied casually and George and Sirius snorted in sync while the younger twin slapped the back of his husband’s head.

„Wow. Those are two tiny people.“ Sirius mumbled while awkwardly trying to peer over Remus‘ shoulder, seeing as the former werewolf is taller than the Black heir.
