Akito's Pov

It's been a few months since I've known him, Aoyagi Toya, we formed a friendship ever since the beginning of the school year. I've gotten to know little by little about him, and vise versa.
Though lately this week, I started feeling.. different for him.. even I started to feel different for myself...

         A Few Days Earlier..

No one's Pov

Akito and Toya were out heading to an arcade, originally it was Toya's idea, mainly to get plushies for Saki and Ena as he normally does.
"Say, Toya, why do you normally get me and Tenma's sisters stuffed animals whenever you come around here?" Akito asked him as they walked along the sidewalk.
"Well.. it's nice ever once in a while to bring them gifts.. seeing them happy makes me happy as well." Toya smiled gently, Akito never knew how one person could be so kind and gentle all at once, he liked that about Toya. He liked how calm he was and what a good heart he had, he smiled back at Toya and then replied.
"That's very nice of you to do Toya, you truly are a good person I'd admit"
"Ah-" the two-toned boy looked a little surprised at the compliment "W-Why thank you, I appreciate you saying such about me."
Akito smiled, then ruffled Toya's hair a little, then looked ahead and saw the arcade.
"We're here!" Akito exclaimed, "Wanna head to the claw machines first?"
"Oh, sure!" Toya smiled as they both walked inside the arcade. Toya and Akito both went to collect tokens, then went off to look at the claw machines. Toya looked around until he saw one that made his eyes light up.
"I already think I know which one I'm going to first.!" Toya spoke, then rushed off to the claw machine.
"Woah slow down! No need to be rushing!!" The orange hair exclaimed, following behind the other boy. He then halted as he saw Toya stop and put a token or two inside the machine, Akito looked inside and saw many colorful stuffed animals, then looked around the others and saw they each obtained the same type of colorful plushies as well.
"Was there something special about this one that made you want to go to this claw machine specifically?"
Toya looked over at Akito, then smiled "You'll see in a moment."
He then put his focus on the claw machine, Akito watched as the claw moved to an orange cat with a yellow-ish paint stain on its forehead.
'A stained cat eh? Who the hell would put that cheap thing in a machine?' Akito thought to himself.
Toya dropped the claw, grabbing the end of the cat by its tail, it brought the cat plush to the exit opening and dropped it in.
Toya crouched down to pull out the cat, then stood up.
"Wow, not shocked you got that first try-" He paused as Toya held out the cat plush to him.
"Eh? Want me to hold it?"
Toya shook his head "It's for you actually.. I thought it'd be fair to get you something as well, for all you've done throughout the past months and your support.. yet I never repayed you until now with this." He smiled.
Akito felt his face get warm, 'what is this feeling..? I.. he's just a friend to me, I don't need to be feeling like this.. right..?' He thought to himself as butterflies fluttered in his stomach.
"Thank you Toya.. I appreciate this alot, you didn't have to get me anything because being beside you and being partners is all I could ask for." He then took the plush and looked at it, he was very happy about the cat plush.
Toya smiled "Aww.. that's sweet of you to say."
Akito looked up, that same feeling going through him, until a new feeling came up. Not a fluttering feeling, but rather a small pain in his lungs.
"Ow..-" Akito muttered.
"Hm? Something wrong Akito?" Toya looked at him, a worried expression crossed his face.
Akito looked at him and smiled a little "Yeah, just a little lung sting, that's all."
Toya looked concerned "That doesn't sound well.. want me to take you home and figure out what's going on?" He offered.
Akito nodded his head a little, Toya put the remaining tokens into his pocket, then both Akito and Toya walked to the Shinonome house hold.

          At The Shinonome's

No One's Pov

As they went to the front door, Akito pulled out his keys and unlocked the door, they both walked in and took off their shoes by the door. Toya shut the door as Akito rushed off to his room, coughing was heard from afar.
Toya went to go into Akito's room, he saw that the orange hair was the one causing the coughing.
"You okay Akito? You should probably-" He paused as Akito moved his arm from his mouth, orange and red petals appeared on his sleeve along with a scarlet liquid.. blood..
"A-Akito...." He looked up at Akito, seeing a petal near his mouth.
"I...I'm fine Toya, don't worry.. I dont know what's going on b-but it's probably something small.."
"Something small?? That's blood and flowers your coughing up!"
Akito was about to say something, but then coughed up more blood and flowers, then all a sudden, he fell to the floor..
"Akito-!!" Toya shouted as he got to his knees by Akito, he pulled out his phone to call a hospital as he tried to wake Akito.

           At The Hospital...
            ‐--------------------------
Toya was pacing around the living room, worried about Akito. It's almost been an hour that Akito was stuck in the hospital. 'Did he not make it..?' Toya thought to himself, he started to panic in his head until he heard the voice of a doctor call for Toyas name.
"Aoyagi Toya?"
He looked up and walked over, "Yes? That's me.."
The doctor gave him a sad glance as she started to speak, "We've been informed by our professionals that Akito Shinonome has developed the deadly hanahaki disease.. he doesn't have as much time to live so I suggest you should come in to see him.."
Toya's eyes widened, he was shocked hearing the news. The doctor started to walk off.
Trying his hardest not to cry, he followed the doctor to Akito's hospital room, then opening the door for Toya.
The two toned male burst in the room by the door as soon as he got a glimpse of Akito, the orange hair looked up at him with a weak smile.
"Oh.. hey Toya" He spoke, Akito's voice seemed raspy.
"A-Akito... how are you..?" Toya studdered. Akito shrugged in response,
"My throat and lungs are killing me.."
"I'm sure they are... how's it been in the hospital? Did anyone get to see you?"
"Ena and my father came, though I could tell Ena was faking her reaction.. she had her phone out the whole time, I bet she was even making social post about this.." Akito mumbled.
Toya looked at him with an upset glance, "I'm sorry about that.. but hey, atleast there's no more social blogs now about this?"
"Heh, yeah I-" Akito was cut off short by his coughing, blood and petals came out and onto his chest.
"Sorry about that- I meant that yeah.. I doubt that.."
"A-Are you okay?? That cough seemed very bad!" Toya exclaimed as more worry overcame him, he was nearly close to crying.
Akito nodded his head "Yeah- fine as ever-"
Toya then started to cry, Akito looked up at Toya and frowned frowned little.
"Oh.. Toya, pleas-" He coughed once more before he continued talking "-don't cry now..."
"I-Im sorry... I.. I can't stop crying.." Toya wailed out, he sat down in a chair by Akito's hospital bed, then set his head down on the sheets and his arms covered his face. Akito lifted his hand weakly to set it on his head,
"Toya, just take a few breaths, it's okay.."
"B-But they said you don't have much t-time..!" Toya stammered as he lifted his head to look up at Akito.
"I know.. the doctors told me.." He coughed up more petals and blood "B-But all you gotta do is stay strong, for me when I'm gone.. okay partner..?" Akito's voice was slowly starting to get weaker as well as his heart rate.
Toya looked at the heart monitor and saw his heart rate go down, "A-Akito..-!"
Akito smiled, then put his hand on Toya's cheek.
"I love you... so much. I'm glad to have ever met you... and I wish I could have told you those words at a better time.... but I love you..." Akito coughed one last time, a large amount of blood and flowers spilling out of his mouth as his heart rate dropped to 0.
Toya sat there heart broken as he saw Akito get wiped away..

"I...." He mumbled, "I love you too.. Akito Shinonome...."

A/N - Finally after spending some small free time from school I finished this part! I apologize for how long this took, I lack this stuff badly.
