I HADN'T MANAGED to speak to Dustin for the rest of the day, being out after i came home from school, calling me only to tell me he is at Mikes and won't be back till later. By the time he came home i was asleep but managed to see his curly hair on the pillow this morning before i went to school.

"When alpha particles go through gold foil, they become..." Barb asks Nancy for the test she has today, luckily being in the year above her means we're in different classes and i therefore don't have an exam.

"Unoccupied space." Barb nods and before she gets the chance to read the second one the cute coloured flashcards get ripped out of her hand by Steve.

"Hey!" Nancy jokes with him as she watches him with doe eyes.

Of course Steve being occupied gives Tommy H, Steve's friend the opportunity to poke Barb before leaning against the wall beside Carol, his girlfriend.

"I'm telling you, you got this." Steve dismisses Nancys revision and carries on with a party idea. "My dad has left town on a conference and my mom's gone with him, you know, cause she doesn't trust him... so are you in?"

"In for what?" the girl questions as i stand there staring off into the distance with pure boredom.

"No parents, big house..." Carol answers for Steve with her bitchy nasally voice that has the capability to drive just about anyone up the walls.

I only roll my eyes at their rudeness. "A party?" Nancy continues the conversation.

"Ding ding ding." Carol replies as Tommy seems to find it the funniest thing in the world and snickers next to her.

"It's Tuesday." my brunette friend reasons, clearly
not interested in the lousy party.

Tommy the twat uses the opportunity to make him seem like a dick. "It's Tuesday.." he pouts before laughing.

Steve decides to finally make his friends shut up with a directed look before speaking to Nancy. "C'mon it'll be lowkey, it'll just be us. What do you say, are you in or are you out." at this point i'm just hoping i'm not involved in this invite because i wouldn't be seen at the hairs house unless someone paid me millions of dollars.

I look up from staring at the interesting pattern of dirt on the floor to see Steve's eyes focused on me for a split second i'm almost unsure if it was real before going back to Nancy.

Before she even gets the chance to reply Carol interrupts looking at the other side of the hallway. "Oh my god." That calls my attention as my head swivels to where she was looking to see Wills brother, Jonathon standing putting up posters on the cork board.

"Oh god that's depressing." Steve says with his hands on his hips.

This purely pisses me off, especially with both Nancy and me knowing Will. "Shut the fuck up Steve, his brothers missing." I don't even look at him as i say this only looking at Jonathon putting up the pieces of paper containing Will's information.

"Should we say something?" Mikes sister speaks with clear sympathy in her voice but also hesitation, like she doesn't want to do anything against social norms.

Carol turns her head towards Nancy with mock kindness "I don't think he speaks."

I use the second of silence to walk over to Jonathon. I'm so done with their bullshit and want to know if anything else has been found. For Dustins sake.

The mild sound of Tommy asking to make a bet "How much do you bet he killed him." Got quieter as i walk towards the lonely boy. Feeling the stares of the people i just left pressing into my head.

"Hey Jonathan." We know each other mutually, of course all being the older siblings of our younger friend, means we know of each other. My eyes flicker to the picture of Will looking so young.

"Hey Elizabeth."  He replies turning his head to look at me. I can see the bags under his eyes, the desperation and sadness almost screaming out through the brown of his iris'.

I turn my attention back to the poster once more inhaling a breath, deciding how to word my sentences. "Do you or your mom need anything? I know there's search parties, i've already signed myself up for some i just, i knew Will... you know? And i just, i want to help." My eyes flicker up to meet his as i see sincerity flicker through them.

His eyes don't stay on me for long before flickering back to the group i just left, i hate that he probably assumes i'm just like Carol or a female version of Tommy just because of who i happened to be friends of a friend with.

"No- no we're good, thank you though." His voice goes quieter towards the end of the sentence as i lightly nod.

The bell interrupts us. "I have to go, Mrs Douglas is a pain in the ass when someone's late. I hope he's okay." i give him a slight smile before walking to my lessons.

Not knowing that if i turned back i would've seen the brown eyes of Steve Harrington look at me with a look of intrigue.

"Attention faculty and students. At eight p.m tonight, there will be an assembly on the football field in support of Will Byers and his family. All are encouraged to attend."
