Chapter 6: S.O.M.L

Maries POV

Zed, Henry, Nate, Lewis, Leo, and I are all on a bus getting back to The S.O.M.L Building because we took a road trip so then we could all have fun and get excited before the concert. It was a three-day trip and Leo and Nate both drank the most Lewis joined one of the days. Leo was asleep on the couch and Nate and Lewis were both on the other couch with Henry smushing him. He didn't mind Lewis laying on him but he didn't like Nate laying on him so he pushed him off. Nate woke up and said what happened. Henry then said a potato fell off the shelf and onto your head. Nate looked up and said, there ain't no shelves above me Henry. Henry then said yea I know. Then Nate left and went to the back bedroom and slept. Zed is tired so I let him lay on me for a pillow Henry went to sleep also while combing his fingers through Lewis's hair. I felt comfort from both of them. I started to comb through Zed's hair with my fingers and tried to fall asleep but it wasn't working I was so tired but couldn't sleep no matter what I did we were in the part of the bus where the guy driving couldn't see us so they didn't know I was still awake and started to play some soft music it was helping a little but I still couldn't sleep. I played some of my music in my earbuds and turned up the volume. A little bit later I fall asleep. Then I woke up. I slept for only 15 minutes. I started to cry and lifted my hand out of Zed's Hair to make myself quiet I was so tired and nothing was working I am so frustrated and can't help it. I feel alone sitting here and I can't stop I lean over Zed for a second and a tear falls and hits his cheek. He flinches and I lean back and cry more I try and stay as quiet as I possibly can. Zed moves around a little bit and then reaches his hand up to my shoulder I flinch at his touch. He says what's wrong and looks around still laying on my lap. He rubbed my shoulder and I didn't want to talk he sits up and faces me. I bring my knees up to my stomach and hide my face from him. I felt something that I didn't want there he put his hand on mine and I flinch from his touch. He looks at me and said something. I shook my head no and shrugged. I couldn't speak, like my voice left me or something I didn't know what to say to Zed so he knew that. I started to cry and I tried to make a noise but nothing would come out tears and tears but no noise. I leaned back and rested my head on the back of the couch I looked at the ceiling, lifted my head, and looked at Zed he slowly reached over with his hands and caressed my cheek he leaned in to kiss me and I kissed him back, he then asked are you okay? I was shaking hard and I couldn't talk I started crying again and Leo woke up. Zed looked at Leo and said something I couldn't tell what he said his lips were moving but I couldn't hear him. My earbuds were still in and my music was paused I took out my earbuds and opened my phone my music was playing I couldn't hear it and I turned up the volume it was up all the way and I showed Zed my phone I looked at him and said I can't hear it in a soft voice I looked at Leo and he said I can hear it I looked down and paused the music. Zed came into my view and I looked up at him he then said why didn't you answer me then. I then said you didn't say anything and looked at Leo. Leo opened his mouth and said He has been talking to you for a while and you can't say he didn't say anything. I then said I can't hear him Leo he hasn't said anything to me. Henry wakes up and says what's with all the yelling. I then say I can't hear when Zed talks to me and look down and back up Henry says Zed just said something to you you didn't hear him? I looked at Zed and he said I love you Marie I don't want you to ignore me, I then said I'm not ignoring you I'm not hearing you I Love you I'm not going to ignore you for any reason. Then he says then look at me right now and say you can hear me, I can hear you Zed. Then he says to look away from me. I then do and I sit there for a minute I close my eyes and there's silence someone comes and taps on me. I open my eyes and It's Henry he then says Zed has said five different things. I look at Zed and I realize. I have tears forming in my eyes and Zed realizes also he walks over to me and hugs me I look at Henry beside us and have a scared shocked face Zed's heartbeat is racing and I can feel him crying I kiss his chest and wrap my arms around him. Leo and Henry realize what happened Leo walks into where Nate is and Henry sits down and taps on Lewis. I look away from them and look back, Lewis's face is sad for me and he walks over to me. He hugs me and I look over at Zed I walk with Lewis still hugging me and stand in front of Zed I put my hand on Zed's head and rub it for comfort he puts his head on my waist and turns his head to kiss it. Lewis lets go of me and I turn toward Henry and he's rubbing his eyes. His eyes are red and glossy I kiss Zed's head and let go of him I walk over to Henry and hug him. Nate stayed in his room and cried I know he did cause he doesn't like crying in front of people. Leo hugged Henry and patted him on the back and hugged me too I look at him and he says I'm sorry I say its okay Leo and he nods. I cry into Henry's arms and then let go of him. I look at Zed and walk toward him. He is sitting on the couch and leaning forward looking at the ground. I grab his head and kiss him I push him back and he sits back on the couch I climb into him and sits down and hug him running my fingers into his hair. I kiss his cheek and hold him. I try and get up but Zed is holding me to stay. I sit and hug him rubbing his head with my fingers. He loosens his grip on me and looks up at me he then says you can read my lips. I nod my head and try to whisper I learned a while ago It's easier to learn with people I already know because I watch their lips. I know what Henry was saying. Then he says what about Leo, Lewis, and Nate. I look away from him and say I've been close with Leo and Lewis before so I can read their lips. I look back at him and he looks away he's jealous of them so I lean into him and say Zed it's okay the feelings didn't last long enough for me to like them that much. I love you and nobody compares to you, you are the best. He leans his head back and I lean to kiss him and we come in contact and I hold him for a little bit while kissing him. I pull back and say I'm gonna go see how Nate's doing I get off of Zed and head for the room where Nate is I knock on the door and say Nate I'm going to come in and walk in a few seconds later to give Nate a warning. I opened the door and walked in Nate was sitting on the bed with his knees up to his chest. He lifted his head and said I'm sorry. I then said I can understand what you saying when I look at you Nate blushes and then puts his face down. I said I can't understand some words cause they look like other words but it's not too hard to find out cause the words make more sense than the one I thought it was. Nate stood up and walked the seven feet there was between us. He hugged me and rubbed my back. I could feel his heartbeat speeding up and I pulled back from him cause I felt awkward. I look down and look at his face he says I'm sorry I can explain. I speed-walked toward the door and opened the door I walked toward Zed and stand next to him he stands up and while I'm still looking at him he says what's wrong The ground was shaking and I looked up and Nate was standing there. I looked away from him and looked at Zed he asked what Nate did and I looked down at Nate again and Zed looked at him scanning him. Then Zed started yelling and said, my girlfriend? Couldn't you find another person to get hard on? He then went in front of me. I sat down on the couch and started to cry I couldn't hear myself but I could feel it. I stopped crying a little bit later and felt tired I still haven't slept I got up to walk over to Zed to get him to stop but Henry stopped me and said Zed could hurt you, I shook my head and said No he won't. I yelled Zed's name and said stop and he turned around and frowned Henry looked at me with a surprised look and Zed slapped Henry's arm. Zed walks over while saying I'm sorry he gets to me and wraps his hand around my wrist and feels my hand. We both sit down and look at each other. I then say I have to go to the bathroom and stand up I walk to the bathroom and wash off my face I walk back out and see Zed sitting there in silence Henry and Lewis are talking and Leo and Nate we're talking to each other Henry look up at me and I smile at him awkwardly and walk slowly to sit down and my head starts spinning I look for some help but no one sees me I say Zed's name and he looks at me he stands up and runs to me I am in his arms and he brings me to sit I then say I'm tired and dizzy I haven't slept the whole day or night. I look at Zed's face and he says you should sleep then. I look at the other guys on the bus and they are all looking at me I say Zed and I are going into the room. Zed helps me up and we go to the room. He lays down and helps me stay up so I don't fall before getting on the bed. I lay down between his legs and he starts rubbing my head I start to fall asleep in Zed's lap and think about how the concert will be now that I can't hear it. I wake up and Zed is asleep he is sitting up in bed I wake him up and tell him to lie down more. He opened his eyes and says I'm comfortable right here. I then say oh, I lay back down on him and try to sleep again. Zed is sleeping and I can't sleep but I'm tired still. I wake up Zed and tell him I can't sleep. He starts rubbing my head again and I relax more he reaches down and grabs my chest he is turned on I think and he is breathing heavily I look up at him and he says please sleep and he moves under me and adjusts himself he grabs my chest again and touches my stomach. I'm feeling relaxed with him touching me I start to get more tired so I relax my body so I'm not tense and Zed rubs my head more and then I fall asleep. I start to wake up and realize we are at the SOML building. I slept the rest of the trip. Then I realize Zed isn't with me and I start to feel lonely. I sit up and bring my legs to my chest. Zed walks into the room and sees that I'm awake. I then said why did you leave? He said I had to go to the restroom and walked toward me. He then says everyone is off the bus and I brought all the stuff we brought and put it in our rooms. I say thank you and get up putting on my shoes and grabbing Zed's hand and walking out of the bus. We thank the driver and he leaves. Zahn and I walk into the building and go to our rooms he then says we have all day to go do something but we will see a lot of fans because it's a day before the concert. I check my phone remembering that I followed two fans that we both met I see the follow back and say yea that sounds fun. I look back at Zed and he says it will be hard because you can't hear them now. I then say I'll tell them that and some of them can talk to you while I talk to some of them and you talk to the other because they will be wanting to talk all at once. He says yea that is okay. I then say ok I will get ready then and Zed went back to his room and got ready also. I am now in my room alone and feel lonely it's too quiet I open my phone and play music and turn it up I can feel the vibrations. I go to Instagram and texted the two girls that are fans and asked them if they are coming to the concert tomorrow I made a group with them and they both texted Olivia texted back and said I haven't bought a ticket cause I don't have money the other girl Rebecca texted and said they sold out of tickets when she tried to. I texted them back and said I can get you guys some tickets so you can come. I can ask Zed after we get back from our time in town. Rebecca texted back and said Hey my family has a restaurant in town and I am here now I would like to meet you again and asked her friend if she would like to come to the restaurant she said yea and I said I can ask Zed if we can go there send the location and name. I got ready and Zed came down and walked down to my room again I said oh I was going to say the girls that we met wanted to meet me again so I wanted to go to the restaurant they are both at and meet them again. Zed then said I have to get a suit on then. I then said I also want them to come to the show but the tickets are all sold out. Then he says let me go get dressed and I'll figure it out. I say thank you Zed I love you he turns back around and says I love you too so then I can see him say it and he smiles and opens the door. He goes and puts on a suit and I'm wearing a red suit Zed comes back with a red suit and I smile and he says matching now and laughs I then say we matched before this long time before today. Zed takes my hand and we walk to the car Lewis wanted to go with us and then Nate did but we told them we are going to meet fans and Nate backed out. We all got in the car and headed downtown I texted the girls and said We are headed downtown now they sent the location and said they haven't opened yet and it won't open til noon but we could get in a little bit before and said come over whenever you want though. I said we will come after with no hassle see you soon. It's ten-thirty now and I tell Zed that the restaurant opens at noon he says okay what do you want to do til then I look back at Lewis in the back seat, Lewis suggests that we should have stayed in our regular clothes cause he's been to the place we are going and they aren't a fancy restaurant and is more like a diner. Zed slows the car and takes a turn and says why didn't you tell us that when we were at the building still. He says I didn't know that we were going here. Do you think we know the same person whose parents own the place? I then say Rebecca, you know her? Lewis says yea I met her a while ago when we first started the band. I said that's cool that we know the same person. This town has changed a lot since then. We get back to the S.O.M.L building and Lewis stays in the car and we say we will be back. Zed looks at me and smiles he then says do they know you're deaf now and frowns I shook my head no. I look away from him and frown I then say I'm sorry I look back at him and he doesn't say anything we both go to our rooms and change into our regular clothes and get back to the car. Lewis is in the backseat smiling when I look back at him he then starts to laugh and I look back to Zed and then Lewis again he says it's funny how you got ready to go to a diner then I roll my eyes and turn around and Zed is driving back to the diner and it's already 12:20 I text them we will be there soon we are on our way and I tell them we have a special guest joining us. Lewis tells Zed the location and we are almost there. We get to the diner and park. Zed and Lewis are talking about something but go in front of me so I can't see what they are talking about Lewis looks back at me and I smile Zed slaps his arm and Lewis turns back around. We get to the building and go inside we are greeted by the door by Rebecca and Olivia I was in front of the boys now and I hugged them both and Rebecca said omg Lewis you're here he hugs her tight. They let go and Rebecca says hello to Zed, Zed went to hug her and she hugged him back. I know she thinks he's hot cause I see it in her face and how she is shy around him. I look at Zed and he looks anxious I grab his hand and look at Rebecca again she then says to Lewis this is my friend Olivia the one I talked to you about? He says yea I remember you talking about her it's nice to meet you, Olivia and they hug. I see her face moving but I can't tell what she's saying she is facing away from me. They are both talking to Lewis and then turn and face Zed and me they tell us to pick a spot to sit and Zed starts walking towards a spot with me still holding his hand. he shows me the spot and tells me to sit down the girls are far away still and I remember the tickets. I then say Zed were you able to get tickets for them so they can come to the show look at him he checks his pockets and looks at me and says I forgot them they are in my suit still. I then say we could go back and get them real quick. Zed then says we could just bring them to the building if they can so then it's not hard to get them in tomorrow. Are we able to do that is there another room we can give them for the night? He said yea there are over 100 rooms for VIPs who need a place to stay or if it's close relatives they get in free and stay in those rooms and hang out with the band and get an extra concert before the others. I Didn't know all of that happened. Zed smiles and says it doesn't happen I just wanted to see what you would say and your answer was boring. I laugh and then say I'm gonna tell them that I went deaf before they find out on their own. They start walking over and then sit down with us. Lewis pulled up a chair and sat in the chair at the side of the booth. I look at the girls and say I have something to tell you guys. They both nodded and smiled. I couldn't decide if I should tell them now or later about being deaf but I decided later. I then said how would you guys like to come to the S.O.M.L and meet everyone and then stay there till tomorrow. They both looked at each other and smiled then looked back at me Zed grabbed my hand and held it I looked at him and looked back to the girls I said yea we left the tickets so that was the plan instead of going to get them and driving back again cause we already did that today once and then I looked at Lewis and smiled I looked back at the girls and said I still have some more news and its pretty serious. Zed squeezed my hand and I started to cry I wiped my tears with my other hand and said just last night we were on a road trip and I couldn't sleep I tried everything I could to sleep but then I decided to play music I turned it up a little bit before I fell asleep and when I woke up the volume was up and I couldn't hear it so I asked someone else if they could hear it and Leo said he could hear it and a little bit after us arguing I realized that I have gone deaf because when I fell asleep the volume was turned up and it damaged my ears from being so loud when I was sleeping so that's why I didn't notice. Everyone was asleep on the bus so that's why part of the reason I couldn't sleep, later in the night I tried sleeping again but since I went deaf I felt it was so quiet so I couldn't sleep and when Zed was awake I could sleep I looked at Zed and his eyes were glossy Lewis was looking down covering his face and I looked at the other two girls and they were crying. I then finished my story and said I woke Zed up again so then I could sleep and not feel lonely he was rubbing my head so then I knew he was there. I looked at Zed and he wiped away a tear. Then we all calmed down a little bit and the girls both said I'm sorry that this happened to you. I nodded and Lewis said something about Henry . He always says a joke to lighten the mood. I looked at Zed and he mouthed the words Henwis is real I then laughed like crazy, and Zed laughed into my neck I could feel his breath. I looked at the Girls and Olivia smiled and said is it really and looked at Lewis I looked at Lewis and he said is what real? I smirked and he said Oh yea It's real alright we always cuddle up and take off our trousers I then looked away and tried to hide my smile, Rebecca smiled and laughed. Both the girls told their parents they would be out all night for the 1D show. We all walk to the parking lot and get in our cars and drive to the S.O.M.L Before we get there Lewis taps on my shoulder and I look back at him he says to call them so then Zed can talk to them I said okay and get out my phone and press the face-time button and hand my phone to Zed on accident he motions back to Lewis and smiled I then say I misread what he said and Zed frowns and remembers what I said to him on the bus about liking all of them before I then looked at him and said not Lewis Zed I'm sorry for not saying who out of them. It was only Leo and Nate until I realized I was scared of Nate and Leo is Henry's best friend. Zed looked at me quickly and then looked at the road again I leaned and kissed him on the cheek. I pulled away and he turns to face me and says one more, please. I kiss him on the cheek a few more times and Lewis taps on me I look back at him and I grab my phone from him and he says I told them to park in the front and well pick them up right next to them and then park in the back. We get to the S.O.M.L and Zed parks in the front. The girls come into the parking lot and park next to us and get in the car. We drive to the back and park again. It's 4:00 and One Direction is practicing before the show the girls meet all of them and I sit on one of the speakers when they play. They play One Thing, Olivia, Infinity, and a few more. it's 9:00 now and we all go to sleep Zed and I stay in my room and we make out for a little bit and then Zed helps me sleep by rubbing my arms and rubbing his thumb on my hand. I fall asleep a little bit later and wait for the morning.
