Giulio

The rest of the day at work seemed to drag on, I kept trying to think of any clue of what restaurant she might be thinking of but I had nothing.

All these fucking riddles and runarounds, why couldn't she just give me a straight fucking answer?

After failing to figure out the place she wanted to meet, because how the fuck would I? I gave up and decided to drive home. It was well past nine when I drove past the little Italian restaurant that reminded me so much of home. Deciding to stop by and pick up lunch before heading home, I turned in the small parking lot and made my way in. Thankfully it wasn't as busy, but it did look like it would be a bit of a wait before my food would be ready.

"Giulio! So nice to see you!" Marie, one of the older cooks approached me. "She's been waiting for almost two hours, you better go before she rips you a new one!"

I frowned. "What?" I looked around, I instantly spot Amiee. The second she sees me, I'm greeted with a hard glare before she dumps the food in front of her in a to-go box. She slapped some money on the table before turning on her heel and leaving out of the other door.

"Uh-oh," Marie said before I was jogging after her.

I pushed open the door just in time to see her walking towards her car which was only one car down from mine. "Amiee wait!"

"What!" She yelled out.

I sighed. "You can't expect me to just know things when you aren't being open with me, you tell me to meet you at our favorite restaurant but I don't even know you! Now, your mad because I-I don't even know why you're mad!"

"Fuck you!"

"No fuck you!" I yelled back at her. "You don't get to show up in my life and demand things without a single explanation, I don't owe you shit."

She looked at me as if I'd just slapped her. "Well, you know what, maybe we weren't meant to be in this lifetime." She quickly wiped the tears that fell. "It was good to see you." She opened her door.

I closed her car door back. "No, you promised me answers, I'm going to get them,"

She smiled. "I don't owe you shit," She shoved the box in my arms, pushing me out of the way before getting into her car.

I looked in the box, shocked to see my favorite dish inside. I looked back up at her retreating car before I made the last-minute decision to jump in mine and follow her.

She could very well be a stalker, yet here I am, following her home.

30 minutes into me following her, she pulled into a decent-sized lake house that seemed to be in the middle of nowhere.

I've seen this house before, I just can't quite remember when.

I didn't even realize I'd been sitting outside for over 20 minutes after she was in the house before I parked behind her car and made my way up the stairs. I absentmindedly reached behind the reef on the door, grabbing a spare key and letting myself in.

I don't know how to describe the feeling, but as soon as I was inside, it felt like home.

My eyes caught sight of a picture on the console. It was me as a teen with... Amiee.

"How nice of you to let yourself in," Amiee stated sarcastically as she descended from the stairs. "Should have moved the key,"

"What is this?" I showed her the photograph.

She glanced at my hands. "A picture," She stated before going to the cabinets, pulling out a bottle of wine.

"No shit, but how am I in it? I don't remember taking this." I watched as she filled the glass up completely. "You don't drink."
