I really like what the anime did abt representing Dazai's bandages in a poetic way, we all know on Season 2's (?) ending (or Season 1 ed?) like how Ryuunosuke is holding a piece of Dazai's bandage and it just seemingly got out of his grasp, like how he abandoned him in the Port Mafia and always had a distaste on him...

And also I REALLY like the way Dazai's bandages is potrayed in the series, I know that he has bandages cuz of his suicide attempts but, I like to potray it in a different way,
"He may be an easy-going, goofy man but, under those bandages he is a completely different person, after "slowly removing" his bandages, his true hidden self is shown, it shows that he is not what he seems to be, now knowing that he is much more complicated and much more of his secrets is hidden beneath the surface."
"Like how we first discovered that he was once a part of the Port Mafia."
This is why Dazai is one of my favorite Characters in BSD, he has a diverse perspective in life and a very complex person, we are just like "unwrapping" him to discover & learn more about him.
Dang I think I'm over analyzing him emotionally and mentally :').
