Y/N's POV:From the earliest memories that I have from my youth, I was taught the utmost important rule that I had to follow. I had to swear my life onto this rule and had to follow it by heart. For the rest of my life, my life would be chained by the very words that countless others before me had followed.
Rule #1: You are bound to protect the members of the royal family even if it costs your life. Your life is disposable at the hands of the royal family.
The Jindao Kingdom was founded hundreds of years ago. As far as I was concerned, the kingdom was immensely wealthy and had vast territories that spread from sea to sea. The Chou family had been ruling the Jindao Kingdom ever since its founding.
My family, the Hirais, was known throughout the kingdom and throughout the world as well. We specialize in combat and have been the leaders of the kingdom's army for as long as the Jindao Kingdom existed. Besides being mere soldiers and pawns for the royal family to use, some of us among the Hirais was given the special privilege to be the personal guards of members of the royal family.
Me, I was assigned to be the personal guard for Princess Tzuyu, the daughter of His Majesty and Her Majesty. I've known Princess Tzuyu for as long as I could remember. We used to be very close whenever we were children, but we grew distant as we had to live up to our pre-destined fates.
Princess Tzuyu grew up learning how to be the perfect princess and woman. She took several classes in literature, foreign languages, social etiquette, and so on. It seemed like the list would never end honestly.
As for me, I grew up learning different specialized combat areas such as hand-to-hand combat, swordsmanship, and archery. In a sense, fighting had become second nature to me and had become a part of me. Practically speaking, I was essentially bred by my father to become a powerful warrior for the Jindao Kingdom.
Honestly speaking, Princess Tzuyu was far from a lovely princess. To me, she was like a demon! While she may have been respectful and kind to other people, she has always been rude to me. On top of fulfilling my role as her guard, she also treated me like a butler.
"Y/N? Hello? Are you deaf?"
Speaking of the devil...
I looked over towards the voice of the said demon that I was thinking about. She was sitting at a table with 8 of her other friends as they were enjoying a meal and conversing about miscellaneous topics.
"Yes, Your Highness?"
She beckoned me to come over to her. I made my way over and bent down towards the princess. Just what did she need now?
"Why are you still here? Don't you know anything about privacy? You're so annoying ugh!" Tzuyu disparaged. Her face had a look of annoyance as she looked at me. The devilish woman even rolled her eyes at me!
